thinking about omega sam. i dont think he properly goes into heat.. ever. there's so much stress in his life after numerous losses and hunts going awry that his body is on constant lockdown. his instincts are diluted and flattened, barely there after being bottled up and shoved aside so long for the sake of survival.

i do think though. bunker era, it takes him awhile to nest. he never nests, its something foreign to him. he never allowed himself to- constantly uprooting themselves from motels, anytime a sense of security blanketed him it was crudely stripped away. but he has the small urge to- bit by bit, he starts taking more blankets and stealing deans clothes. he thinks dean wont notice, but of course he does.

A/o/b idea where Bucky accidently gets Sam pregnant and during their political stand off (COUGH divorce that totally didn't happen, this is just a newly weds rough patch COUGH) and Sam has been getting his phone blown up by Bucky who's worried sick about their pup. Some back and forth happens over the phone, Bucky mentions something along the lines of 'Its not MY fault all captian america's are such needy Omegas!' (ussually followed by John Walker piping in for no reason trying to claim 'uhm actually Im a beta' NEWS FLASH: he's not, and neither is bob-) which leads to Sam telling him this is his fault and he should 'be on his side' and when Bucky rambles on about how his team needs him and its Sam who hormonally told him they should take a break (ooof 😬) only to stop when Sam gasps over the line.

Bucky: What? I'm right! This was all your idea. I told you I didn't want to, but you said-

Sam: Buck- He's kicking.

Bucky: WHAT!?

Sam: Shut up! ..ooh my god.. he's kicking!!..ouch! Watch it. Those are my organs, young man!

Bucky: I'm coming. Don't move!

Sam: What?? No! I'm going to move. I'm not standing in this cafe until you get here!

Bucky: Gasp! Noo! Caffine is bad for the baby!

Sam: It's decaf!! Jeez! Why dont you carry this meance then? All he wants is uncured italian subs from Toni's but the doctor said I shouldn't. He wants so much meat its unreal. I dont think ive eaten this many wings in my life, Buck.

Bucky: Ill bring you some wings, just- go home and Ill be right there.

Sam: Fine.. you know which ones I like.. See ya later.

Bucky: WAIT!

Sam: Oh my god, what now!?

Bucky: I love you.. both of you.. Please be safe! I don't want to have to do anything I'll regret.

Sam: Sigh... I love you too Bucky.

Yelena, crossing her arms: What happened to "taking break" eh?

Bob: *shrugs* It's an omega thing.. I think 🤔

Sam’s heat was getting closer and for the first time in his 30 years of life he started to feel the urge to nest. He had never nested before, Sam never felt the instinct to do it even though he was an omega.

His cycles were always irregular, sometimes he only had one heat per year and it was never a strong one. Apart from the high fever and feeling extra horny it was pretty manageable.

But since they found the bunker and started using it as their main base, the very close thing he and Dean could call a home besides the impala, his omega instincts started to kick in and now Sam was lost.

It’s been a couple days since he started to sense this huge impulse to collect blankets, pillows, anything that made him feel safe and comfortable. However he had no idea how to do it properly and the bunker was clearly lacking in comfy items…

… And that’s how Sam found himself staring at the laundry basket, with one of Dean’s sweaty t-shirt on his hands.
