Finished! First dawn reroot, first eyelash reroot. Found her in my stash bald, don’t remember when or why that happened, picked hair to match the outfit. She’s on a Disney store body (Elsa) with the original clothing. Unfortunately dawn doll bodies are not as durable as I would like. Have so many with missing feet, mechanisms bursting through the legs, hips melting. The Disney bodies have been a lifesaver, and it helps their original heads have such ridiculous expressions I don’t feel guilty for dumping them.

This girl was good practice for my grail plan: I can’t afford a Dinah, but I have another doll with her face mold, and the right color hair. Just have to root it, braid it, and maybe repaint her eyes.

My latest Goodwill haul is an instant collection of Dawn and her friends! I just love Mod era dolls and these tiny 6 inch cuties pack a ton of Mod style.

Dawn doll Christmas scene I don’t think I ever posted.

Just got back from the local doll show! We gave 2 here, one in August and one in October - I don’t think I ever posted my august dolls, so I’m just posting everyone together now.

I already have an Aja, but her outfit was so cute I couldn’t resist.

Most of 2 Dollikins - only one butt between them, so I’ll have to figure that out.

Dawn and…somebody. Let me know if you know exactly who. Her body is only different from Dawn’s in that the legs are blown plastic instead of click knee, and she has what look like Dawn markings on the back of her head, but no branding, no date like dawn has on her butt, and lacking rooted eyelashes, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dawn without?

6” Disney store doll vs dream Ella extra iconic mini vs dawn doll.

Extra iconic mini fits in dawn doll clothes fairly well. Her bust is smaller, so she does better in shift dresses than something with a more defined bust. Dawn shoes are much too small.

Extra iconic mini fits really well in Disney pants; shirts do not Velcro over hips but otherwise good. Shoes obvious no go due to Disney flat feet.

Extra iconic mini fits great in boxy girl dress. I didn’t have a boxy girl on hand for body comparisons, but I think they, like this doll, have fairly short-torsos, so boxy shirts would likely fit well. Boxy shoes would obviously be much too big.

Extra iconic mini bottoms fit well on other dolls, but the shirts were much too short due to torso length differences - barely covered chests. Also did not close in back around Dawn’s larger chest. Did not try shoes but suspect they would fit well o enough on dawn.

Disney store 6” body versus extra iconic mini versus Dawn doll.

Extra iconic mini versus Disney store doll: Disney is taller and height is mostly in torso. Hands and feet are of similar size though feet are flat vs heels - I like to compare these parts because some dolls like boxy girls are very similar in size to other 1/12 scale dolls, but their foot size makes them feel like a different scale.

Extra iconic mini versus dawn: dawn is slightly taller, and again, the difference is mostly in the torso. Dawn also has a significantly bigger chest.

All dolls seem to have similar neck circumference, which bodes well for head swaps - always a major plus since dawn doll bodies tend to break down at a faster rate than heads. Gonna do a separate post for wardrobe options.
