New reroot! Love how fast they go at this scale. Little miss dollikin on knickerbocker miss Hannigan body.
Matched set! Bitty little dolls are a great way to use up leftover hair.
First tiny reroot was a good learning experience - rooted her so thickly I could barely fit a neck peg in. Second went great, but I did a ponytail so I wouldn’t have to work out a tiny part line. Gonna do one more - a little dollikin with a part somewhere - before tackling my teensy tiny pigtail braid dream doll.
Finished! First dawn reroot, first eyelash reroot. Found her in my stash bald, don’t remember when or why that happened, picked hair to match the outfit. She’s on a Disney store body (Elsa) with the original clothing. Unfortunately dawn doll bodies are not as durable as I would like. Have so many with missing feet, mechanisms bursting through the legs, hips melting. The Disney bodies have been a lifesaver, and it helps their original heads have such ridiculous expressions I don’t feel guilty for dumping them.
This girl was good practice for my grail plan: I can’t afford a Dinah, but I have another doll with her face mold, and the right color hair. Just have to root it, braid it, and maybe repaint her eyes.
First time rooting eyelashes
Why are her rooting holes nowhere near the molded in hairline?
Finally restrung all these Dollikins. 1/6 scale redhead has a cork instead of a butt, and brunette has an arm held together with jewelry wire. Polka dot jumpsuit 1/12 scale is down an arm. I have another little one consisting of head, torso, legs, and zero arms, so she got a new body, and is now waiting on a reroot.
Also:
Cleaned this guy’s clothes, and got the girl’s head to fit on her neck. And I got the two from dollar tree:
Don’t think I’ve had my two abbeys side by side before. I definitely prefer g3, which has been the case for a lot of g3. I was going through my fairly brief Too Old For Dolls phase when g1 was coming out, so they don’t have the same sentimental value for me that I think they do for a lot of other collectors; I like them for the fun skin colors more than anything else.
G3 abbey is just so cute, which I’m realizing more and more as time goes on is one of the biggest selling points of a doll for me.
Eventually I will fix her hair.
She’s so cute and so floppy. I couldn’t keep her standing long enough for a photo, even leaning against the wall.
Bratzillas are the only Bratz that appeal to me at all, probably because they’re not really much like Bratz. I understand why other people like Bratz; they’re just really not my thing, aesthetically.
Need to do a lot of work on this girl’s chair, but right now I’m prioritizing getting everything sorted and everyone dressed.
All my rainbow and shadow high dolls.
For the longest time I thought Tressy was a Tammy character - they have the same weird head/neck, and I bought her in a bundle with a Pepper doll, the two of them wearing matching dresses.
Going through my dolls. I have 24 skippers with the 1987 face mold, and I will not be parting with a single one. They are Necessary. For Reasons.
1 black doll, 2 brunettes, 14 blondes, 1 with 2-tone hair, and 6 reroots.
And I just found number 25.
Also a reroot, and my only repaint - I think her original face was pretty badly damaged or I wouldn’t have. She was a very early repaint.
Tammy family! Bud’s head doesn’t really fit his donated body. Didn’t actually ID Grown Up Tammy until today. Dodi was my first ever reroot.
I just love this doll so much because she looks like she’s got dark circles under her eyes. The most relatable Barbie.
They match!
