Election night baby, let's fucking go
Lots of Political badges being sent out this week to so many lovely customers. We have some new designs in the shop. These are some of our Labour ones
I have a casual friend who was an actual Tory party member, like Boris Johnson called him about his vote even.
Today he told me that he officially left the Conservative party, and showed me his letter!!
All his friends have actually been congratulating him. He told me he knew of 6 others who have done the same! (Sadly some of them for racist reasons because they have joined the Reform party instead, which is horrendous).
I asked him what the final straw was, because I know there is a lot of policies he disagrees with them on, and I have been working on him for years.
And he said it was the current lack of democracy, and all the back stabbing in the party with them having no unity. Which I think does highlight what a mess our democracy is at the moment. Our meme game is definitely stronger than our democracy.
Like this is how fucked we are, my Dad pointed out that if King Charles refused to accept Rishi Sunak as PM, the law says we'd have to have a GE. Like this is extremely unlikely to actually happen, but being British I keep finding the weird situation where our unelected leaders, keep trying to protect our democracy. Which is mind blowing if you think about it.
Like the House of Lords tried to protect our human rights over the really messed up "Policing Bill" that Priti Patel pushed for, which gets rid of our rights to peaceful protest, and they actually got some of the human rights violations pushed back.
Like if all this isn't a sign that we need major reform. I don't know what is.
I honestly thought it was law that you couldn't have two unelected leaders in a row. Honestly we really should have that as a law, because the people have every right to say who governs them.
I think the UK currently has no room to judge any other country for their lack of democracy right now. We are a mess.

[ID: Screenshot of a tweet by Peter Stefanovic which reads:
“Boris Johnson said if we left the EU there would be an extra £350bn a week for the NHS
He also said he had a a plan to fix social care which did not involve raising taxes
Now he is now hiking taxes to a 70 year high to pay for the NHS & social care
Why is our media ignoring this?”
If, like me, you include their pushing through of laws that blatantly disregard human rights, we're already seeing multiple double events 🙃

Eat the Rich
You say money can't buy happiness. We say ok, but it can buy a whole lot else. It can get us healthcare when we're sick, because unlike you lot we can't afford to go private. But of course, you're the ones who the NHS will fall under. Money can get you a decent place to live. Money is what would let us eat out once in a while, without worrying that we can't pay for it. You want us to go hungry. Weirdly enough, we disagree. You can have your lobster, your fillet steak and caviar. You can have your thousand-dollar bagel, dipped in gold and god knows what else. Does it really make it taste that much better? Does it? You can have it, have it all. We don't need it. Oh, no. We'll be fine on our own. Why, you ask? Well, tonight we're eating the rich.
