We were so lucky that we got the chance to experience the Asakusa’s “Tori no Ichi” celebration before we left Tokyo the next day. We witnessed how the event celebrated. There were food stalls in every streets which will make you very hungry; The festive chants from the sellers of Kumade everytime they made a sale; And lastly, seeing the locals how they pay respect to their traditions and how happy and proud they were while holding their Kumade. I kinda regretted that I didn’t follow @donna2tsuki ‘s advice to buy a Kumade and do the procedure for the full experience of the festival. Maybe next time (a.k.a. Special Festival coming up! 😙 Tori-no-ichi is a gorgeous and famous festival usually held in November, but the dates vary from year to year! It mainly takes place at temples and shrines associated with eagles and birds. 🤗 It is a traditional festival that has continued since the Edo period, where people buy lucky charms and pray for prosperous business and happiness in the coming year. 😍 Depending on the region, it is also called "Otori Matsuri," "Otorisama," or "Okame Ichiba".
