I refuse to believe the crew sleeps in hammocks every night.
The only time we actually see the crew sleep is in hammocks in the main room. But I don’t want to believe they actually sleep in hammocks every night, because 1. Hammocks are not that great, I wouldn’t want to sleep in one every night, and 2. Why would anybody build the Tortuga without a place to sleep knowing that people are gonna be living in it? It’s basically their house, and what kind of house doesn’t have space for a bed?
Here’s my evidence:
In the episode To Touch a Hummingbird, when the bros accidentally lose their clothes while trying to touch a hummingbird, they sneak back into the Tortuga and then disappear through a door. When they come back out, they’ve got new clothes on.
And where do people keep their clothes? In their room! So they must have a real bedroom somewhere.
In the episode Googly-Eye the Night Guru, Aviva says she needs some sleep, and then goes through a door, leaving the main room. Koki followed soon after.
Where did she go? Well the only logical conclusion is that she must have a bedroom.
I’d like to believe the whole crew each has a small bedroom of their own. They only sleep in hammocks in the main room occasionally. Maybe they have group movie nights every so often and that’s when they sleep together in the main room?
I know this was really short and wasn’t much of an analysis, but I just had to get this out there.
how would you nerf the Tortuga?
I don't really think the Tortuga needs nerfing. It's a very strong frame but it's not the be-all-end-all best choice for every situation. Telemetry shows that the Tortuga isn't overused in comparison to other frames. It's a solid frame that already has a couple of exploitable weaknesses (low Evasion, low Speed) that, while relatively easy to work around, still need to be worked around for the frame to be maximally effective in its role.
That said, if I had to nerf it, it honestly doesn't need 15 Sensors and +1 Tech Attack. I'd lower one of those by an increment - either 10 Sensors or +0 Tech Attack. My gut says to go with 10 Sensors and keep the +1 Tech Attack to maintain its distinctiveness as a CQB frame that can mix it up with a little bit of hacking.
