Grubtubers often watch other channels, it’s great entertainment and helps keep them in the know of recent trends. One viral video of a kid doing parkour tricks had Kinsra laughing so hard he had to message the account. He’s never done parkour himself, but it was something he felt would be a hilarious attempt for his “doing new stuff” series of videos. 

So without hesitation, Kinsra pulled up the messages:

Hey Freddie do you have any suggestions for how to draw to OCs that look similar in a familial sense?

OK ILL TRY MY BEST!!!! im not great at this but hopefully i can help a little 

usually, when it comes to families, i kind of pick a few key features 

lets use my gemela family as an example-they all look pretty different but theyre connected in lots of little ways that [hopefully] make them appear related

here they are! glasses and hats removed for clarity and lots of things left out bc im lazy [

one thing i usually stick to when designing characters who need to look similar is shapes! the gemelas are primarily triangle based [esp obvious in faldur, but it applies to the rest] while florem + her family are circles, sarkys are squares, so on

ANYWAY-defining features of this family [besides obvious things like fins/horns-im gonna assume these dont count, as if u were designing smth other than trolls] 

so! lets highlight some stuff:

jawlines-of course they vary a little, but they all have the same high, defined cheekbones + angular jaws, with fairly thin faces and defined brows

noses-theyve all got upturned, skinny, defined noses. faldurs is...very exaggerated but they all match the same sort of shape 

eyes-harder to tell since vi always has half-closed tired eyes, and faldur is always like B( but they all have big, round eyes. they all have similar eye placement too-close set, and they all have these Big Thicc Lashes 

extras-they all have little details like freckles, and similar hair types [keenos’ is more curly than fal and vi’s wavy hair, but still similar!] 

bad teeth run in the family too. and bad eyesight. they all need glasses 

so...kind of pick a shape + a handful of defining features for each family and base them around that? similar but...different!

this is kind of a mess but i hope it helps at least a little! lemme know if u need anything else ;3

♥ What’s the absolute best experience you’ve had in RP?

Oh jeeze, I’ve been rping for years and there’s been so many amazing moments. But I will say I had one of the biggest, longest and craziest rps with @shamelessfancies when I first joined the fantroll community. This was some 5 or so years ago. We had crazy times with our muses and still do!

☄ Has roleplay positively affected your life in some ways?

Oh yes! I have met so many talented artist and roleplayers of various fandoms. I feel like I’ve gotten better at writing, made lasting friendships and even met rpers in person! Like @intelligentnaughtygirls It really lifts me up when I feel down.
