Currently rewatching a piece of the action and i'm absolutely dead at spocks reaction to kirk teaching the iotian fizzbin.
You can just see him thinking: i fell in love with an idiot. A smart idiot. But an idiot.

tos (shower) toughts time
isnt it weird that honestly in my most main opinion abput tos shipping, i think the vigilante role is the most multi-shipped role. (list: jailor x vigi, vigi x vh, vigi x vet, vigi x pirate, vigi x GA, vigi x mayor, vigi x surv 50/50, vigi x mafioso, and vigi x consort)
thoughts? maybe share dis cringe post
In The Way to Eden, the legendary promised land is a beautiful planet made of acid.
In Amok Time, Spock says: “After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but is often true.”
If Colette's Great Aunt last tried to complete the World Regeneration and made it all the way to the Tower of Salvation (but ultimately failed) wouldn't that have switched some mana flow into Sylvarant?
Does the flow just reverse if the journey isn't all the way created? Or did someone from Tethe'alla have to open some seals/go on the Regeneration journey 🤔
So i noticed that whenever spock is in command in tos he makes sure to encourage the crew with words and to reassure them of their importance.
In Who Mourns For Adonais when uhura has to fix the communications panel he tells her "I can imagine noone, better equipped to handle this, miss uhura."
At first i thought it was a subtle way to show spock and uhura's friendship, especially bc he calls her "miss uhura" and not "lieutenant", which he usually does.
And while i still think that is partially true, he does that same thing in The Tholian Web. When chekov and uhura are released from sickbay and he comes to the bridge he says "I am glad your back" and "your presence has been missed" (or something to those words) to them.
He obviously cares about the enterprise crew and always seems to make sure they hear how important they are. My guess is that he took a psychology class back at the academy but I also believe he knows how it feels like to believe you are never enough due to his half human status on vulcan and his alien status in starfleet. He never wants the people under him to feel like that so he tells them whenever he can. It also helps keep the crew morale up.
That being said, i think spock's love language is words of affirmation
It is currently 0053 in the night and i am feeling very head empty except for this scene from star trek
In The Savage Curtain spock has this brief conversation with surak when they first meet. Surak points out that spock let his surprise show on his face and spock apologizes for letting his control slip.
This is interesting because in other episodes he isn't afraid to say that he is also half human, for example in Spectre of the Gun, when bones and scotty accuse him of being cold towards chekovs death.
This happens more often in the third season which makes me think that he started accepting his humanity more and more after falling in love becoming friends with kirk, who accepts him completely.
But in this scene he doesn't tell that to surak.
This might be because he sees surak as this perfect vulcan and idolizes him like kirk idolizes lincoln and doesn't want to be seen as a "bad" vulcan by him.
But also we have to keep in mind that this version of surak is one from spock's mind, so it is likely that he projects a lot of vulcan expectations he faces on him. He got bullied for being half human, so surak must think the same as his peers because otherwise they would be illogical.
Spock sees in surak everything he should be as a vulcan but isn't, someone who has overcome his natural emotionality and saved vulcan society from desctruction.
So the surak we see on screen is more of a projection of what spock expects him to be. I think this and some other stuff that happened towards the end of season three, (an example would be All Our Yesterdays), finally lead to spock's decision to pursue kolinar.
Every ot3 has these very important rules:
