Oh my god raspberries are stupid expensive. Of course, they don’t last and don’t travel well so I get it, but still.

I’ve got probably $80 worth of berries in the dehydrator (I love dried raspberries) and another $200 in the freezer on cookie sheets. And they’re so easy to grow; the bigger problem is keeping them from taking over the yard.

The trick to keep them bearing is to whack them back to the ground every couple years. Red raspberries bear on new canes, so if all they have is old canes they’ll peter out and stop bearing after a few years.
