Back to Unreal
Welcome back to me fumbling around Unreal and Blender. Been a bit. Been trying to do more in Unreal other than just putting things in the world. Started with making an interaction system to pickup notes and inspect items. Lets explore that under the cut.
Curious if there are any other people out there who are in love with textures. Not just like fabric or fur textures or even “nice” textures, but all of them. The smoothness of glass beads, the softness with subtle give of leather, the different feels of the skin on different parts of your body, the little dips and bumps of paint on the wall, the roughness of driveway gravel compared to the small semi-smooth of aquarium gravel... I can’t own anything or use anything that I don’t like the texture of. I am constantly touching things and testing the feel of them... I don’t really know where I’m going with this. I just love textures.

Touch everything
Touch everything
Why do you always have to touch everything? - I thought you liked that about me. -

I knit when I get anxious or stressed. It's repetitive, meditative, and there's visual progress that I can see. Idk the tangible aspect of it all really helps, it's very grounding.
Knitting sounds amazing tbh, I used to crochet when I was little but haven’t tried since (I made mini pillows and blankets for my beanie babies lmao).
ACTUALLY now that I think about it, the last time I was feeling overwhelmingly anxious was when I was sitting on a plane at Halifax waiting to take off in icy conditions. I could feel my chest get tight, shit was starting, but I happened to be wearing a scarf with yarn tassels on the end of it. I started quickly braiding each one, then undoing it to braid it again. It really did help take my mind off the situation, or at least keep me from feeling worse.
Touching stuff, working fabric between my fingers always calms me down I guess lol... Maybe I should pick up crochet/knitting again.
