Étape 7 : Poznań La Pologne, ce pays de l’est souvent délaissé est pourtant une destination de vacances insolite et merveilleuse. Nous progressons en Pologne pour une escale à Poznań ; son histoire et son architecture constituent d’excellentes raisons pour la visiter. En effet, Poznan fut le berceau de l’Etat polonais. Elle a de quoi séduire grâce à sa splendide Vieille Ville qui avait été entièrement détruite et reconstruite suite aux guerres. Avec ses maisons d’artisans, ses façades colorées, ses arcades, ses pavées, elle est magnifique ! Au centre se trouve l’hôtel de ville de style Renaissance. Au-dessus de l’horloge, deux petites portes s’ouvrent tous les jours à 12 heures pour faire apparaître deux chèvres en métal qui viennent se donner douze coups de cornes. Un événement que je n’ai pas manqué ! J’ai goûté le croissant fourré de Saint-Martin qui est une pâtisserie traditionnelle dans cette partie de la Pologne. J’ai aussi goûté beaucoup d’autres spécialités, les restaurants ne manquent pas dans le centre historique et je me suis régalé à chaque fois. Poznań est un grand centre commercial, économique et culturel de l’Ouest de la Pologne et abrite l’université Adam Mickiewicz, une des plus réputées de Pologne.  Il faut prendre le tramway pour arriver jusqu’à la cathédrale Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul, qui est située sur une île ; l’île de Ostrów Tumski. Cette cathédrale est incroyablement belle. Elle a été construite en 968, détruite, reconstruite et dans la crypte, subsistent des traces de l'édifice roman primitif et des tombeaux originaux de deux souverains. L’intérieur de la cathédrale, est d’une beauté impressionnante. On m’a aussi recommandé de visiter le musée : Brama Poznania, situé tout près, juste derrière la cathédrale. "Ultra moderne, bien pensé et passionnant..." L'interactivité rend la visite de ce musée particulièrement intéressante. Un audio guide ultra complet. On en apprend beaucoup sur l'histoire de Poznan, de sa cathédrale.
