Today its Glenn Close's birthday. I want to celebrate it sharing the first time I saw her on a big screen. It was Dangerous liaisons opening night. I went to see it with my college friends. We used to giggle and make fuss at any screening we went, you know just kids fooling around. But this was different. From the beginning we were engaged by this wonderful script and these performances. And the direction! It was a period piece that spoke to us directly, we felt it so contemporary. Once it was over we couldn’t move, we were so impressed by it that we stayed for the next session, and saw the movie again from beginning to end. It remains one my all time favorites movies ever.
