We’re all aware Doppelganger holds your true personality, Vergil. Doppel is showing you what you could have if you weren’t a scaredy cat.
They’re in a serious moment, only for Vergil to look over and see his Doppelganger rubbing his face on yours. You’re confused initially, but you giggle and hold its face in your hands. You're surprised when Doppelganger rumbles in delight, holding you in its powerful arms. But it's warm, so you can’t really complain.
As well as embarrassed, Vergil is disgusted and jealous. Embarrassed that his literal copy is showing you affection, disgusted that it looks that easy because it is, and jealous that it's doing that, and that you’re letting it. Is… is it that simple? Yes you traumatized himbo it IS that simple.
The warm, fuzzy phantom emotions he’s feeling is not helping. There’s an emotion he wants to describe as happiness, but his pride refuses to allow it.
“That’s enough,” Vergil growls, ready to slash Doppelganger away only for you to stop him.
“It's fine! I don’t mind.” You say before turning back, rubbing the Doppelganger’s face with your hands, eliciting louder purrs, “You’re just so adorable, aren’t you?”
Vergil swore he saw his Doppelganger look at him and smirk. Vergil wants to explode.
“Your Doppelganger is adorable, Vergil.”
“Enough.”
“Wait, is that what you want? To be held and told―”
“I said enough.”
