I have a feeling Negative and the butterfly(ies?) are, respectively, a 'curse', for lack of better term, and eyes-and-ears/lil' manipulators made by Hate, since it's pretty obvious the butterflies have something to do with Hate, or at least a Hate lackey, assuming she has those. And that scares me.

Or, on the more positive end, Rgb harnessed the power of/got effected by an attack from/worked for Hate, and Negative's just a setback of it he can overcome.

EDIT: Another one I realized the next day was he could just be bipolar, and Negative is The World of Make Believe's influence

Me posting about tpoh after several years jumpscare

So. I've been rereading the last few chapters in light of today's update because jesus christ. And I got to page 526, where Dial sees this thing:

I think this thing is Assok. Their new outfit that Tinker made, to be specific.

It's in just the right location and time for it. Assok leaves the market sometime after the gang meets Time, before the train wrecks everything, and before this scene occurs, as we see in Cut To. Everything in the story so far has gone to the desert after the market, so it makes sense that Assok would as well.

Assok is a puppet, and this thing is a marionette; the big black thing floating in midair is a control bar, which marionettists use to control the puppet. The details of the puppet are obscured, but it looks to me like a blimp with wings. Or like the back of an elephant's head, with wings for ears. Assok was an elephant before they became a hero. The idea is much like the movie Dumbo, where an elephant who lost its mother flies using its ears, which I think is fitting for TPoH.

This might be mega reach but the thought came to me and now I can't stop thinking about it

Negative has only gotten about 26 panels but if anything happened to him I would stab Dial and not be moved by it

I havent been in the TPoH fandom for that long (a little under a year), but from what I've seen, tpoh updates are rarely if EVER going to go the way the tpoh fandom thinks it will
