Hello Anushree! How’s you doing? :) I’m sending you this regarding the ask you received some days ago from ashiquitumhiho (this post: http://nirantar.tumblr.com/post/83070270009/) because it’s too long to fit as a reply. lol For some days now I’ve been thinking about this same concern… and I’m truly happy that you, and the other girls in your replies, think so about this… because I myself am Muslim, but I’ve always been fascinated by Hinduism and specially Mahabharat. I found myself truly educating myself about Hinduism/Mahabharat (along with other religions/mythos that’s always stirred my intrigue) some years ago when I entered university, for at that time I started to realise that there’s a lot to learn before I could judge anyone at all, and I’m so grateful that I’ve come out of my sphere of studying the Abrahamic religions only—- because now I understand others and respect their mentality and humanity rather than judge them at all ever more. And what’s more exciting for me to discover every single day is that at the end of the day; we all basically share the same general ideologies, only our ways to apply them in our lives differ. :)

Hi! I'm doing fine! Thanks for asking. :) I feel that religion isn't supposed to be a barrier. Regarding anything. You can be Muslim and fascinated by Hindutv, just like I can be a Hindu and interested in Pagan Mythology. As I'd said in reply to the ask, and I maintain it, that so long as you realize the degree of magnanimity of reverence and respect the scriptures and epics and stories and Gods hold in the hearts of millions of people and the place they have in histories and cultures, and respect them, you can study/talk/know/think/draw/sing/make things about any religion/faith/culture, regardless of who or what you bow to, or if you bow at all. Hmmhmm I see what you mean. With crosscultural, multi-religious study comes a cosmopolitan approach towards all things. And one of the things people notice, is the pattern in core fundamentals of all these faiths and religions and orders of living, because in the end, while our paths may be different, we are working towards the same goal: goodness. I could go on and on, but I'd probably digress, so I'll stop myself here. We appreciate your interest and intrigue, because isn't this how cultures live on? :)
