i luv when u do this ; A ; wonwoo + glass
Wonwoo is a lot of different things; he’s loud and soft, passionate and detached, funny and dull. Different situations bring out the different sides of him, and that’s not what he shows a lot of people. The one exception is a certain boy, going by the name Kim Mingyu.
The thing is, lately, every time Wonwoo’s around his best friend, he feels like he’s treading on glass, like he can’t completely be himself. And he knows exactly why.
See, falling for your best friend isn’t something Wonwoo ever saw coming, and he doesn’t even know how it happened. Feelings - not very reliable things.
It’s to the point where one day, backstage just before their Inkigayo stage, Mingyu had been walking around with Wonwoo’s round glasses and Wonwoo nearly forgot to ask for it back before they went on, because Mingyu had looked utterly adorable in them. Blame Mingyu for being so unfairly attractive. It’s his fault, really.
“Wonwoooooo!” A pair of arms wrap themselves around his waist from behind, and Wonwoo yelps in surprise. He doesn’t have to turn around to recognise the voice though, it’s one he’s grown so used to hearing.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Mingyu rests his head on Wonwoo’s shoulder, and he’s currently having a mental breakdown at the close proximity.
I like you, isn’t something one springs on their best friend just like that so Wonwoo shakes his head.
There’s a pause, and Mingyu withdraws. “You know, you’re very easy to read. I know what you’re thinking.” This makes Wonwoo freeze, and he turns around slowly to face the other.
“I’ve been needing to get glasses like yours - but like, real ones because I need them for reading. You’re going to come with me because you need to make sure I get ones that look good on me, right?” Mingyu gives Wonwoo a puppy-eyed look.
Anything looks good on you, Wonwoo thinks, mentally heaving a sigh of relief. “Idiot,” he pokes Mingyu in the arm. “But yeah, fine, I’ll go with you, you burden.”
“Your favourite kind of burden,” Mingyu sings.
Wonwoo sighs, trying to ignore the way his heart beats slightly faster as the other links arms with him, already listing optician shops they can check out together.
