Fourth A
I took my daughter to an Irish trad sesh (impromptu gathering of traditional Irish musicians) in Portland. She's an Irish dancer. She swore she wasn't going to dance. 20 min later...docs and all.
Fourth A position? Anyone?

Just spent an hr trying to teach myself King of the Fairies and I think I finally figured out the set part I was stuck on (kotf is actually arguably my favourite trad set but as i am an Ancient Dancer I never learned it officially)
not too shabby considering I'd been off dance for three months with a hip injury! came third in the advanced trad set competition :)
(dancing here to represent the Cambridge University Irish Dance Society in a strictly unofficial capacity at an inter-uni event)
Today's Trad Set consideration. Also known as "it's raining".
Molyneaux Blackbird progress! Now at 144 and on both feet, but still with a few errors and I haven’t started the set yet.
guess what i’m learning? I've only got as far as learning the lead round on the right foot -- no set or left foot yet, and it’s far from perfect (what even is turnout), but it’s better than it was this morning when I didn’t know it at all
I put this on Instagram too, but it knocked the audio out of sync, so i’m hoping tumblr doesn’t betray me as well
One of my favorite videos! The combination of very traditional dancing with some very new and cool rhythms after is awesome.
Question
Is there a version of St. Patrick's day that has toes in it? Not the "kick your heel" part, but actual toes in addition to "kick your heel"? I've seen a different version of Blackbird danced at a feis before, but have never seen St. Pats danced differently than how I learned it. I saw some people doing it at a feis today, and was wondering.
