we visited the tatami-styled starbucks too but i didn't manage to take a decent picture there cus it was so crowded..

We reached 2m high, cleaned the cheeks and cut the tip of the logs. Looking great so far. a visit to the world cultural heritage site

we arrived at noon, a little too late to see the snow-capped gassho houses but they were still stunning. took a total of 6 hours from kyoto... because of the new year holiday season, we had to take a longer route

Day 16: The log on the top of the windows has been set as some others too. Day 15: We had a curvy log to use (for the sake of having special technique), to even the curve we make a "bloody cut". We cut about 2/3 of the log wher the curve is bigger and brought it down with straps for the marking. In the same spot a peg will be put to close the opening it created. Day 8: Some of the tools I need to hew the joints spots. Once the axe of the log is found, I mark the cheeks with a chalk line and find the position of the joints. I cut the depth with the saw, clean the main material with a heavy axe not too curvy then I even the surface with the broadaxe from @gransforsbruk. The last pics is the partition wall joint. The log was actually too small and the space for the next joint is too low, this can complicate the work.
