I've seen a lot of issues lately in the traditional femininity/tradwife community, and nobody seems to have addressed them, so I'm going to right now.

Traditional femininity/tradwifery is for ANYONE who wants to enjoy it, regardless of race, biological gender, sexuality, religion, or anything else. If you're a lesbian, trans poc who wants to stay home, bake bread for your wife, and adopt lots of babies together, you are ABSOLUTELY allowed to, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Traditional femininity/tradwifery is for EVERYONE, not just cis, white Catholic women (although if you happen to be so, you are also obviously welcome.)

Being a traditional woman is also not something you have to be perfect at, and not something you have to incorporate into every aspect of your life. If you want to wear pretty, 50's inspired dresses, get rid of all modern technology in your home, and make everything from scratch, that's fine. If you just want to occasionally make bread from scratch and rub your S.O's feet when they get home from work, that's also fine.

Traditional femininity/tradwifery is what you make of it for yourself, and nobody else.

After I did some chores today like mopping (finally) dishes and a little laundry. I baked some more bread for hubby and I’m working on a shawl for my brother in law’s bride. I’ve got 3 weeks till it must be done. 😱 Pressure knitting! Hubby even asked if I’d be willing to cook dinner so he could relax and take a nap. He was up all night worrying since he lost the garage door opener and we live in an apartment. Poor guy. He had a warm slice of bread and went to snooze. ❤️

I don’t often look up at my balcony at night during anytime of year. Well, mostly because I don’t walk the dog at night. Tonight I did and it was kind of breathtaking. It was dark but just dark enough and still humid and damp from the storms that just rolled through. I looked up to see the solar lights softly lighting up my balcony filled to the brim with plants. We have so many plants! Many reach pass the railing one is trailing down towards the neighbors trying to make little melons. The dining room light was on and it honestly looked so homey. The darkness didn’t show off the rough looking plants being attacked by some unknown pest or disease. You couldn’t see the imperfections. All I saw was home which isn’t how I typically see my apartment. It was amazing.

I’ve always wondered if I liked the Austen dress and way of living because of the simple, modest dressing or the traditional gender roles. Yes, I’d love to dress is a simple, country outfit reading a book or peeling vegetables on my porch while the sun dries my linens and my bread is baking in the oven.

I finished a lovely cloth today. I haven’t decided if it’s going to be a dishcloth, facecloth, or burp cloth. Nonetheless it’s a cloth. I plan to continue working on my SIL’s shawl and probably making some almond flour muffins after I tidy up the house.

Traditionally masculine guys are SUPER hard for me to draw.

Hubby bought me a new dress and a beautiful purse he picked out. They’re to die for. I love them.
