after working a number of nightshifts flirting with abbot, Dennis gets himself into a little bit of trouble. nothing really at all, he insisted, he just got into the attention of a cult...

he didn't know how, but he knew that on his way home one day he was confronted by a cult, who knew exactly who he was where he worked and everyone he had ever known, almost like it was premeditated. and they want to make him some kind sacrifice, but he's offered a way out.

instead of death Dennis gets trapped into an arranged marriage with Titus Danforth he is whisked out of Pittsburgh and is decaled missing. now dr abbot feels partially responsible for it because he didn't think to check on Dennis at all.

pope is hired as Dennis's bodyguard to look over him until the wedding, just to make sure he doesn't want to run away. obviously, Dennis is terrified of his soon to be husband. hes old and crazy and maybe a little bit obsessed, and especially when he finds out about the hunting ritual, he does try to run. pope is obligated to stop him

pope isn't as bad as Titus. in fact, pope was a pretty good listener though he seemed to have difficulties responding, he talked in short direct sentences that express only what he truly felt. so, Dennis settles on talking though him, but Titus doesn't tolerate that. he insists that they need to talk directly, and threatens that if Dennis keeps on avoiding him, he'll get rid of pope.

now after a few weeks, Dennis adjusts to his new life. he can tolerate Titus's eccentric personality, and he's grown to like pope. to be fair, he didn't have many other options for connections to make. the rest of the staff weren't really able to talk to him.

meanwhile jack hired an old family friend by the name of Sammy Bryant to track him down. he's determined to right the wrongs and bring Dennis back to his normal life no matter what.

basically, the shawn hatosy verse fighting over Dennis as he desperately tries to get his life back together while also getting passed around in a circle

well that Legendary Bad Bitch fumbled his first battle so badly that it immediately destroyed his entire family. 15 year robb stark did better on his first try. his own son managed to win a battle with a few dozen fighters while having multiple arrow wounds and probably three different types of infection. the only thing legendary about rhaepist is how many ways i can make fun of him on any given day.

It’s strange. Even though she made the choice to run away both times, and did everything she could to ensure she wouldn’t be found and caught...Aina can’t help but resent her old friends from Konoha in her solitude for failing to retrieve her. 

She doesn’t resent them for trying to bring Sasuke home. He belongs there, and he needed help. She wanted the same thing, after all. It was what made her decide to keep corresponding with Orochimaru even after learning his true identity, against better judgment. 

It’s the fact that, from where she stood and saw, she wasn’t worth the same effort. 

When she disappears the first time, no one comes to rescue her. When Sasuke puts Orochimaru down, it’s Aina who approaches Tsunade first. She only stays long enough to make sure the rest of the residents from Oto are rescued, and to recuperate from her injuries and get her affairs in order. Then she takes advantage of their inability to keep constant watch on her to escape. Just like before, no one chases after her. Or if they do, they have to stop. 

Perhaps Aina’s efforts to hide her trail turned out to be too effective? (She’d picked up a number of tricks from her time in Oto for her second escape.) At least the gang had reason to believe Sasuke could still be alive for at least the next three years. They had learned how Orochimaru had been forced to take someone else as his next vessel while waiting for Sasuke to come to him, which bought them some time. 

The apparent circumstances surrounding Aina’s disappearance were much more bleak. 

Even if we ignore the above, it’s not really their fault. I’m sure the desire did exist! 

It’s just that...well, to put it bluntly, there were always more important things to take care of. Sasuke, Orochimaru, Akatsuki...eventually the Fourth Ninja War. 

Besides, why would they want her back? Regardless of her reasons, she still betrayed their trust. She killed a boy whose only crime was letting his patriotism and drive to be a hero get the best of him (...kind of like her, actually). Not to mention all the ghastly things she ended up doing in Oto...

On the one hand, it's like, “Shucks! They’re doin’ awright without me. More than awright...they doin’ great! Look! It’s like...I’s never there. So I don’ hafta feel so bad about leavin’, anymore.” 

But then on the other hand: “Shucks. They don’ need me. They never needed me. What was th’ point of ever bein’ there, then? Was I jus’ a nuisance...an ugly little weed in our forest? Or should I say...their forest?”

Even in the New Era, when she decides to show herself again, her relationship with most of what old friends she’ll still engage with is distant and delicate. It never really recovers to what it used to be. What’s the point, after you’ve seen for yourself how well everyone is doing, and will continue to do, without you?

synesthesia is so silly bc all sorts of words and stuff have colors for me, right? this issue is this will consistently result in me trying something that sounds pretty (color wise) and then it’s sometimes the worst thing i’ve ever had bc the colors were not on my side
