Misty's roster - Champion Teams!
The Tomboyish Mermaid has plenty of lovely Water-types - more than you'll even see on these teams! But, she likes to rotate her Pokémon that she wields against challengers to let them all shine.
And, to keep her next victim guessing, of course.
Trainer card for @hey-omi 's army of tiny cuties! Thanks a bunch! Also go check their art cause it's amazing! ---

My custom Trainer Cards commissions are on sale right now!
Updated these again, hopefully for the last time now!
Hatless Red and Ethan are still as cursed as you think, but I redid their hair slightly to look...a little less ugly
If the towns they were born in confuse you, it's just the starting towns of each game :^)
(Silver's one is Viridian city)
I've also got Kris and Kenta but they don't have proper avatars yet so they've got placeholder pictures 🙏
"why are some Pokémon nicknamed?" Uhhhhhhhh I didn't know where else to 'introduce' their nicknames, Feraligatr, Wiggytuff and Mismagius's nicknames are all from Legend Of Thunder, the rest are from my head
Ken's one is from Beedrill's Japanese name, it was cool enough for me to wanna keep it, and Steelix's 'Neeru' or 'Nēru' is the one Jasmine trades you in HGSS, (in English it's Rusty, but I like Nehru more :^) )
Tried to keep all the sprites to HGSS for everyone besides Dawn, for her it's mostly DPPT, but some of them were just too unfitting, i'm sorry Politoed and Weavile
Just like last time, the original template is by @crowgunky !!
Class A Pokémon Teams, Round 3
It has almost been a year since I made the first post surrounding this idea to which I say no way in hell, but in any case during that time the teams majorly expanded from the original 1 to 3 right up to full teams of six.
Laying out the ground rules I put down for myself here.
I don't like mono typing or falling all the way into one style or category because of how MHA Characters are designed it is super easy to have their teams fill niches based on their designs or quirks alone, Eg: Kaminari being fully Electric, Ashido being Poison or Tokoyami as pure Dark, it works well if they were Gym Leaders but they aren’t here, their trainers so their teams should logically cover weaknesses, or even provide coverage that they themselves can’t provide if they were to still have quirks, take for example Todoroki who’s only really capable of using Fire and Ice as his ‘Coverage’ so why would he take Pokemon that are in a sense the same ‘Type’ as him, so he’d want at least one Grass Type so cover his weaknesses to Ground, Rock, and Water. This also allows for far more diverse team compositions if I'm being honest and I like that better.
So starting with Minetas I decided to go by Dorm number.
I’ve seen all sorts given to Minoru and he’ll either have a joke team or one that lines more so with his personality, but here it’s a mix, but also taking into account how they would interact should they be in anime, which is why I’m not against him having a Lopunny, as a storytelling device it can work really well, with them having intense distrust towards Mineta because how he acts but overtime his intense loyalty and care that he shows others, which we know he has allows them to evolve into a Lopunny, it’s a storytelling device that sucks you in via the perceived notion of who Mineta is, also all of his team have a way to knock him out or drag him away from harassing a girl.
Bonsly-Tripping, Shroodle-Poison Jab, Wimpod-Tripping but Golisopd can just pick him up and use Emergency Exit, Gulpin Not much other than maybe latching onto his head ala many of James Pokemon, and Froakie sticks his feet to the floor or thwacks him as a Greninja.
Izuku fundamentally has the hardest teams to pick because of how many interpretations there can be but here I’ve tried to keep it reasonably close to who he is, normally he gets given lots of Fighting types which I don’t mind but there are just some easy things to get from that, starter wise I see him given Sceptile rather often which I think suites Sero much better, so my picks were between Bulbasaur and Scorbunny, the former being his voice actor Daiki’s favourite Pokemon and the latter is Goh’s semi starter Pokemon, Daiki voices Goh in the anime so I choose the latter as a more direct reference.
I had fun designing Yuga’s everyone knows you need a Furfou, that’s just the law but from there it’s honestly a toss up of various different choices, not often Kalosian but enough that get close to him aesthetically, I really wanted to push the idea of him not being what he seems which came out really well, Rookiedee uses fake eyes, Snivy’s animal and typing referring to a hidden enemy a Snake in the Grass, Staryu is thought to be an alien, whilst Spritzee is based in part of Plague Doctors who used perfume to keep the smell of bodies out, in this case it's like he's trying to mask the evil he's been surrounded by via AFO, which is why he has a Mimiku, the disguise.
One trap I see people fall all too often into with Fumikage is choosing to give him an All Dark type roster or give him a ton of birds, which is to say I get it but Murcrow is not his style, Fumikage has rep as a Chunibyo, otherwise known to America as Eighth-Grader Syndrome and is used to describe adolescents with delusions of Grandeur, I’m saying that he has delusions of grandeur, but he’s dramatic as hell, so we need some of those traits, as well as some swordsman and samurai motifs being as he is Hawk’s ward. I'm also considering him giving his Honedge to Eri at the Christmas party, I think it could be pretty cool.
For the character with such a connection to animals he sure is reasonably hard to give a team to, I went with a Forest Guardian vibe to the team composition, but also Pokemon that had peaceful designs or connotations but are by no means to be underestimated. Most if not all of them refer to his growth, Gigalith with his horns, and Unfezant in particular becoming a reference to his Domino Mask and gained confidence.
I didn’t want to fall in to heavily with sound and music, so no Toxtrity or Audino despite matching interests and quirk, so I went with Pokemon that are tangentially sound related, but not overly so, Jirou has always given off the vibes of Marnie, who is music adjacent, I mean come Jirou owens half of the stuff Marnie wears. Ekans is a really fun choice because it's meant to represent her face paint, Jirou paints a variety of little shapes on her face when doing hero work and Arbok can change it's hood pattern depending on environment so her's would have a combination of all the different paint markings.
I feel that Kaminari always gets the short end of the stick in these sets giving him a mono electric type team, to which I ask why? If he still has his quirk he needs one at most because he is the electric type he doesn’t need a Pikachu because he is a Pichu, and one of his key traits is making sure that his weaknesses can be accounted for so why is that not shown? So in this case the electric types he does have are there to help him learn to use his quirk better. I really see him as a bit of a Hoenn boy hence half his team comp being Pokémon found in Hoenn, Pansage is really funny to give a Motormouth like Kaminari as Pansage represents Speak No Evil.
Iida was hard to do without falling too hard into a camp of giving him Pokémon associated with Speed, but I feel I covered most of the bases, and don't tell me it wouldn't be so cute seeing a little Piplup trying to imitate his trainer's serious demeanor and arm chopping habit. What I did do is give him Pokemon that are solid and dependable Mudbray being the best example.
Ojiro also fails into a similar camp as Iida and Kaminari as being given a really singular themed team, but here you can see I did no some fighting and some Monkey mon's Tyrouge and Aipom are par for the course but his bottom set are more based on being Cool, Gliscor is one of the Coolest Pokémon to exist so why the hell not and we get some Gligar Man imagery in there. Zigzagoon is in slight reference to what he thinks is cool as a style which we see in Your Next, being basically Present Mic's outfit, you can’t tell me he wouldn’t think Piers or Sidney are the coolest guys ever.
Hagakure's team is kinda girly and I think that's totally fine Sobble was the choice but I was also super proud of Ducklett's inclusion, the Duck to Swan of finally seeing her visible is a neat story idea tied into her team comp. I wanted to include the concepts of something being hidden and lights, hence Budew who hides its little coloured bulbs.
Shoji's team was well. It was hard to not fall into the standard pitfalls of I don't know giving him a Machamp, when he is the Machamp so I went with some more interesting choices. I think Shuckle might be the most incongruous choice but I find it charming. Charmander has the same sort of backstory as Ash's being abandoned Shoji rescues it from the rain, you know the deal.
I had so much fun with Uraraka's team Comp, firstly Clefairy gotta have the pink, but you don’t want to overload it, I see that all to often with to many Pink Pokemon on her team and Munna is a really common choice with her for some reason, I'm not sure why but sure. Now Litten it's an odd choice to a point, well it's not she's constantly depicted as a Cat and Incineroar as a Heel Wrestler fits her Grappling style same with Clobbopus, the latter along with Swablu are in references to her Mentors, Gunhead and Ryuku.
If I didn't include a Rockruff I would have been shot, but my choices for him are semi awkward or require a change in fighting style, I would have given him Garchomp but realised a bit late, maybe Crimson Riot had one. They also have this semi- Delingent look to their designs, plenty of Red in all of them which wasn’t entirely intentional but works with several of them having crest-like heads further tying into his design.
Accidentally but his and Bakugou's last names in as opposed to their firsts, sorry boys.
No Bakugou's team is composed without the inclusion of headstrong but powerful Pokemon, I like to believe that he takes great pride in having a smart Rhyhorn which also contrasts to Midoriya's Skiddo as a ride on Pokémon, all of his Pokemon have some sort of tie into people in his life that he admires or respects, or in the case of Clauncher he names his moves after a Howitzer a type of field artillery gun, what’s it’s evolution name?
Ashdio wasn't to hard honestly, I'm not 100% on the Snubbull but everything else is staying, the Oricorio is to make light of her and Kaminari's two brain cells of which Pom Pom is seen holding, I didn’t want to fall into the trap of making her whole team Dance or Poison related but I think the mixing of concepts is pretty well done.
Yaoyorozu's Team is pretty good in layout and concept. I don't think I have to explain it too much, I will say that Squirtle is the only starter that she should ever be given considering Blastoise. I like its layout in that it’s very clear that there are her friends, they all do something or are related to her life as a woman of a high class family.
I didn't know how to get much out of Sato's team, I think what I gave him is fine, nothing to special, it covers the bases of him being the strongman cook of the group, it’s funny because whilst he has practically nothing to do in the MHA anime in Pokemon he makes a strong contender for one of Ash’s Gym leader tagalongs, hell he and Brock have the same hair style.
Okay Todoroki normally ends up having a Team of Half Fire- Half Ice, to which I ask why? If he still has his quirk in this hypothetical set up it make sense to me that he would limit the number of fire types on his team hence the part Normal type Litleo, but also the rejection of fire is present in his use of Vulpix and Ponyta, two Pokémon known for their fire typing, but aren't fire type in these forms, and Poliwag? I just like it and it provides some added coverage.
Sero got a pretty neat team I think, so for some reason people will give him a ton of Bug Types, so I didn't. It doesn't super fit his vibe. I know he’s a Spider-Man analogue but you don’t need to go all in. Scraggy is a must on any of his Teams, Fittle is there for his wild card nature, it's also pretty damn stylish, Panpour is here to round out the elemental monkeys with Sero getting the most laid back and chill of the three. Now I don’t know if I did this intentionally or unintentionally but his team kinda matches Tokage’s vibe? Two Lizards and then Flittle and Panpour which could be in reference to Garau Fashion? I know I ship Serosetsu but that was not intentional on my part, but a fun story telling opportunity.
And rounding us out quite literally look at Tadbulb and Natu, is Asui with her part frog team, I do she her given all Frog teams, which why? She is the Frog so why would you stack her team with them? Seel was a last minute inclusion but works out with the Zoo art showing her with one, and it's also a Selkie ref so that's mega cool.
I'll be honest I made the trainer cards at about two in the morning so there a bit funky but I love them anyway, there are some silly goofs, such as the fact that Shoji's Pancham shouldn't be able to evolve by in-game rules but considering there are 120 Mon's here with exactly one species overlap, I'd say I've done pretty good here.
1B, maybe I might do that at some point in the future.

My revvy Fallen London OC Muru as a pokemon trainer.
Making more of these for the void because it's fun.
I used to headcanon these guys as Hoenn way back in ye olde times but we have Alola now sooooo. If there's a pokemon you can't get in alola it's because I thought they were especially emblematic of the character. Or just cause I wanted to.
There was an old headcanon in a Kh server I'm in where Kairi adopted a Gible cause she thought it was cute, and then it grew up. It's name is Muffin and it loves her very much.
Sora gets Incineroar because his fursona is canonically a cat. I shouldn't have to explain Klefi but fun fact. Back in gen 6 Serebii did an entry on Klefi and one of the first suggested movesets was labeled "when you walk away". soooo yeah. Also why are there no pokemon that are just flat out pirates? Kilowatrell is a strech but they're based on Storm Petrels which are said to be the souls of dead sailors so close enough. Also Sora having a regional bird just feels right. This is definitely the one I feel the least strongly about.
Sandslash is the Mouse pokemon.
