when it shows em in front of the waffle house near the fountain in bhm, that one who calls the performers 'punk rock gay couple' and says 'fuckin-A' that's my friend; this trainkid punk named skyler (ted haggard on fb) the black one who's with him in the first shot- he just had to get his foot amputated over a train jump that ate his foot all up. i have the gruesome photos of it. blows. i'd been wanting to see this video and didn't even know they're in it. they were probably shakin a jar. i sent skyler a msg on fb and am waiting to hear back from him. idk if he knows about his buddy's foot or no. the clip is good commentary for how much a gap there is between urban AL and MS as compared to the right wing republicans in their respective offices (and orifices). maybe it's because of the south's guilty conscience, but there's so little activism here in the deep south. even our more-earnest punks, for example, aren't all that active... the ones who are are few and far between. we need solidarity. we need the government to represent us as we are. and note that i did point out that i'm talking about urban areas in the deep south. note that birmingham is the most populated city in alabama. part of me would comment that it's the rural areas that make us last in/at everything, but then i'd be making them the butt of a joke the way so many do about the deep south (often namely alabama or mississippi). either way, there are bumpkins in every state. tuff call.
