Salim Headcanons for.... Parenting?
random headcanon ! // salim !
Salim overall isn’t a bad parent, but sometimes he struggles between discipline and spoiling. He hated to see Asra cry, and would try to bribe him with sweets!
Aisha was very mad about this.
When he does get put in charge of punishment though, he can think of some awful things.
Like taking a toy away and setting it high up so Asra had to look at it while they ate dinner.
If Asra pulled it down with magic, Salim would charm it so it’d run from him until the spell wore off.
He wasn’t afraid to change diapers or give baths or feed their child. After all, he helped create Asra.
Salim hates doing baby talk, and would rather talk to a child of any size like a normal human being.
But he loves teaching ! If a child has a question, he’ll find the answer and make sure it’s appropriate information. If it’s not, he finds a really good way to censor it. (”Where do babies come from?” “So it takes a sperm and an egg to make a baby. There are people with sperm, and there are people with eggs, so they spend some time together and then little rascals like you show up.”)
8/10 parent sometimes he forgets to keep a good eye on Asra and straight up loses him somewhere in the house. (Asra finds this hilarious and loves to play hide and seek with Baba all day)
Snack dad!! Snack time is his favorite time right next to nap time!!
Tries to be supportive of everything as long as no one’s getting hurt.
Overall, soft sleepy dad just doing his best.
