Okay, first thing, I am sorry I took so long in replying. I wantedto make this justice, and for that, I needed time to think, and then some moreto write it with the love it deserves. But here it is!
Let me tell you, you are absolutely right! How are we not talkingabout this??? You are a genius, Anon. A visionary. You completely baffled me.When I read this ask for the first time, I felt all my chakras busting open. Theconcept is just so… perfect!!!
Also, I want to say this: since I’m a trans fella, my perspective on trans women and their struggle is limited, so I might’ve expressed things in a way that’s just not right. I’ve also searched for the situation of trans people in Japan during those years, but I’ve probably got some things wrong as well. If I said something offensive or bad, please, tell me, and I’ll change it right away.
I hope you like these! Let’s go!
Since she was very young, she was incredibly confused. Why did everyone insist that she was a boy? Why couldn’t she wear prettydresses like the rest of the girls at school? Why did she have to cut her hairinstead of letting it grow so she could braid it?
When she was seven, she talked about this with herparents. They took her to a therapist specialized in transgender children, whohelped her figure things out and understand herself better.
Her parents and older sister (who was 13 at the time)were 120% supportive about it. Misa didn’t know at the time, but her father’sbrother was transgender as well. Sadly, he died two years before she was born.
She picked her name a couple months after startinggoing to therapy. The reason she talks in 3rd person is because sheloves to hear it, and it helps her when people would refuse to acknowledge she’s a girl, ormisgender her in any way.
She had to change school for the following year due tobullying, but on the new one she went to, she was presented as a girl. She wasreally happy about this. She had friends, and her childhood was full of happymemories.
Puberty was a hard experience for her. Luckily, shehad already feminine features that didn’t hardened much, and she went to voicetherapy since the first sign of her voice changing so it wouldn’t drop toomuch. She talked with falsetto as much as possible, though, because it made herfeel better.
Puberty was also hard socially. She started to losefriends and being harassed. She was told time and time again to “drop the actand be a boy again”, and if it wasn’t for her family, the social pressure would’vebeen unbearable. She didn’t want to be called a half-new, she didn’t want to beseen by society as a man doing a performance. She was a girl, and wanted to beperceived as one.
She had a couple relationships, but nothing tooserious. She wondered if it was because she was transgender, and it was a bigworry for her. She dreamt for the day that her knight in shiny armour came tochase the bad people away. To be cherished and admired for who she was. To beloved for her soul.
She finally got access to hormones at age 17. She alsogot the chance to go to Thailand and get done all the operations, thanks tobeing from an accommodated family. It was a complicated year, medicallyspeaking, but she finally started to feel that her body was cooperating withher again, just like in her happy childhood.
A day after her 18th birthday, she startedthe process to get all her legal documents changed. They arrived a month beforethe attempted robbery that resulted in her parents’ death.
Despite being incredibly depressed about the wholesituation, she kept trying to find a job, and finally got into a modelling agency. She managed to maintain her transition a secret. She didn’t want to end upposing as an okama, because she wasn’t. She was a girl, has always been. Shewas adamant on keep that private.
When her parents’ killer died by a heart attack, shefelt she could finally breathe again. They were her biggest support, andenduring all the transphobia became way harder after they passed out. Butjustice was inevitable. Kira was Justice.
A month later, a stalker found out somehow about herpast, about her transition, and cornered her to kill her. But somehow, the manturned around, like he wasn’t interested anymore; she didn’t question her luck, she just ran away. After that,if a photo-shoot finished late, she always went home with a friend, and paid for ataxi to take them to their house.
Two weeks later, she found a notebook that had beenslipped under her door. Even though she felt scared, just in case anotherstalker was on their way, she picked it up.
When she met Rem, she stopped being afraid. Now shehad a guardian angel. And she could help Kira to get rid of the kind of peoplewho made life harder for good people like her parents.People who hurt others just because they were different. People who killedothers.
