You’re absolutely RIGHT, thank you for pointing it out! I was mostly thinking about the star trek movies when writing that post, which is why Scotty/Enterprise didn’t end up on the list, but it’s a good ship for sure!

In fact, some of the best and most believable Kirk/Scotty fic I’ve read has had a basis in “we both love this ship of ours so much in different ways, and we love and respect each other for that mutual understanding”

I never really realized before how appropriate it is that Rise of the Cybermen comes right after Girl in the Fireplace. They can both pretty much be boiled down to “robots look for a compatible brain to make the machine Go” but while GitF focuses more on how that affects one woman and her “lonely angel,” RotC/AoS pays more attention to how society shapes itself, and the choice to remain human. It’s just an interesting contrast!

i think . peridot is trans. this is because . i am trans and i really relate to peridot in a lot of ways and peridot is like . very transmasc feeling to me? i’ve always resonated with peridot and peridot’s always felt very masculine to me but not in like a tomboy way. also because i said so. trans the green one

Some Secrets Are Best Told

"So, uhh, when you gonna tell her?" The young man known as Ame (short for Amethyst) blurted out.

Peridot had been in the middle of sipping a bottle of beer when the question was proposed to him. Midsip, and he sputtered, and coughed, "What?"

"Amethyst! Please!" Pearl snapped. "I'm sorry, Peridot, sometimes my...boyfriend can be a little bold, you might say."

Ame grinned, more happy at the fact that Pearl had referred to him as her boyfriend, and not as her girlfriend. "Sorry, but for real, D, you need to tell her soon!"

Peridot glared at Amethyst. For some reason Ame had decided to nickname Peridot, 'Dorito', and he could never figure out why. "I know, I know I need to, but I'm really in love with her," Peridot explained. 

"How have you been keeping it a secret? You two are rather...intimate, right?" Pearl questioned.

"A packer tends to remove suspicion, and I've never let her touch me down there. I don't know, she seems to like it. I mean, she hasn't complained about receiving, and not having to give."

"Wow," the other two said.

Peridot blushed for a moment, then took another drink of beer. "What if she breaks up with me? She thinks that I was born as a male, and if she finds out," his words strayed as he took a drink.

Pearl, and Ame were quiet as they looked at each other. It was Amethyst that spoke up, "Dude, you gotta tell her! I mean, if you keep lying, that's not fair to her. She deserves to know!"

Both Pearl, and Peridot looked at Amethyst, and it was Peridot that answered him. "You're right. Okay, tomorrow I'm going to tell her. If she accepts me, then great! If not..." he looked at the floor, "Well, there are other people," he sighed.

"That's the spirit!" Amethyst exclaimed as he leaned forward, and gave Peridot a light jab on his arm.

"Right, yeah, I'm going now. See you later," Peridot said. A small smile appeared on his face right before he left the building.
