How would you describe the way you present yourself to others? In other words, how do you like to style yourself? What do you wear that makes you most comfortable or happy? Etc. I present myself as a flamboyant gay man. Kind of eccentric and really silly, just doing me. I’d describe my style as hippie-dippie and geek chic. I like to wear bright colors and make funny faces.
How do you find that others perceive your gender? For example, do people tend to assume your pronouns are something other than what they are? People perceive me as the guy I am. People sure as shit know I’m gay. I’m very proud of being trans! I don’t yell it from he rooftops but I’m certainly not hiding it. Someone once told me that being a trans, gay man is a revolutionary start to the queer era. And now I tell myself that every day.
Have you been told/felt that that you were presenting yourself in a way that did not “match” your gender? For a long while, I constantly worried if I was male-passing. I was worried about my safety. But with time, I grew confident in my identity; it helped a lot when people started telling me that I am male-passing.
Is there anything else you’d like to share on the subject of gender identity and presentation? My identity is very, very, very, very queer and very, very happy.
