is the gotham fandom such a tire-fire that they just eat up batjokes when bruce is a child? like i know bruce has been 18 for like 3 days but how can you ship this and not feel like the creepy old man waiting to fuck his friend's daughter he's known since she was 12 just bc it's legal now? has the whole fandom been working with solvents in a poorly ventilated room along with the writers, or is this actually just hell and I'm being punished by god for killing that snail in 2nd grade

The problem here is you assume ‘ship’ is just another word for ‘hot steamy sex’ and nothing else which is a very narrow view. People ship fictional couples because of their dynamics and potential. All the angst, conflict, longing and differences in personality between Bruce and Jeremiah makes for great viewing and I want to focus on that, via gifsets, and explore it further, via fanfiction.
Ultimately I think you need to remember that these characters aren’t real and the fiction that we intake doesn’t define who you are as a person. (When you enjoy an action film you don’t suddenly become Guns McShooty and start murdering people, so enjoying watching Jeremiah pining over Bruce who was / is / isn’t / will be / wont be / etc 18 years old in Gotham doesn’t suddenly make a person a ‘creepy old man’.)
There’s a lot of content out there that you won’t like and trying to guilt and shame people by playing purity police won’t change that.
