To all my fellow trans brothers and sisters, I know holidays can be stressful. I woke up this morning not wanting anything to do with today. But I have to think about how far I’ve come from the past holidays. You might have to encounter family that won’t acknowledge your true self, who won’t respect your pronouns or your chosen name. You might not be where you want to be yet but trust me that you will get there. I’ve been working retail for over 5 years now and I’ve always been nervous around Black Friday. Because I have to encounter so many different people, and I’ve not always passed as male. It made things very difficult for me.
