jasmine’s dark fairytale role → the trapped princess
“pending: your own happy ending - you’ll get there” - amanda lovelace
once upon a time, there lived a princess who was trapped in her own palace. one morning long ago, she awoke alone. there was not a single presence in the palace; not her family, not a servant, not even a mouse. any time she reached the edge of the palace, she would then find herself back in front of it. over time, she accepted that she was truly trapped. she cooked, she cleaned and spent her free time reading and her hope to escape was decreasing. until one day, she began to notice little things that had been left behind for her. flowers, baked goods and chores already done. she would assume herself sleepwalking but there were no signs, the princess grew suspicious. she searched and searched for a clue of another presence but found none. the idea of a person around her that she couldn’t see made her realise she had grown far too used to the palace which would not let her go, it was a prison. our story begins with a princess in her abandoned palace, determined to break her curse and escape her prison.
