1. Rare parrots return to Atlantic Forest fragment after decades of silence
“[… In] December 2024, researchers counted just four wild red-browed amazons in all of Alagoas state, Silveira reported[…, and] trees that depend on animals to spread their seeds are dying[….] The 20 parrots released in January came from rescue centers and a conservation foundation. […] Ten birds failed [readiness] tests and remain in captivity for breeding. [… T]he first chicks born in the wild will probably come in 2027.”
2. Loma Santa marks first Indigenous protected area in the Bolivian Amazon
““A bill has been proposed at the request of the community leaders and local authorities to regulate the illegal activities of outsiders who come to Loma Santa solely to exploit our resources,” Muiba said. […] Tamburini said that communities were “trained in data recording and transmission, as well as in using technology to monitor and document the condition of rivers, forests and wildlife.””
3. Rare Win for Renewable Energy: Trump Administration Funds Geothermal Network Expansion
“The federal money will allow Eversource to add approximately 140 new customers to the Framingham network and fund research to monitor the system’s performance. […] Plans for the expansion project call for roughly doubling Framingham’s geothermal network capacity at approximately half the cost of the initial buildout. Part of the estimated cost savings will come from using existing equipment rather than duplicating it.”
4. How Spogomi Turns Litter Into A Winning Sport
“Inspired by Japan’s unique ‘trash-picking sport,’ discover how Australia’s first spogomi World Cup qualifier turned waste collection into a fun and eco-friendly competition[…] where nearly 100 participants came together and sorted litter into coloured bags until the end of the competition. […] By the end of the [one-hour] Manly competition, hundreds of kilograms of litter had been removed from the streets.”
5. In Kenya, Maasai private landowners come together to protect wildlife corridors
“”Our women restored the river. They removed tons of garbage, and then, together with the youth, replanted indigenous seedlings along the riverbanks. […”] Sixty-four landowners have signed a contract with the conservancy, leasing their land for a renewable 10-year term in exchange for payment. In return, during this period, the landowner cannot sell the land to anyone other than another member of the conservancy for conservation purposes, nor can they put up fences.”

*wraps around you like a koala and bites your neck*
mateo is sweet, but i like you more
-🥚
(i was trying to hint at cuddling for warmth, but i can see how vague i was 😭)
Cam chokes, his face flushing instantly as he feels teeth sink into his neck. His hands clench, unclench, then hesitantly hover over your body. "Ah..." "You-"
For once, Cam was at a loss for words. Not because he didn't want to say anything, believe him. He wanted to say a lot. He just couldn't find any words. All of them got lost on the tip of his tongue, he feels like more might get lost there soon. "Hh..." Letting out a shaky breath, he slowly puts his hands on your waist. Stabilizing, supposedly. There was nothing worse than getting caught off guard.
!!!People are so delusional!!! !!!Rant ahead >:3 !!!
Okay, so tell me why people have LOST basic empathy for people, and especially for animals. It's so insane, too? My mom keeps talking about how much she hates animals, how 'evil' raccoons and squirrels are. Because why? Because they get into houses and destroy them, get into the trash and composting. I understand, yeah, it's frustrating, yes, you can do things to hopefully prevent that from happening. But WHY are we blaming the animals?! They have done nothing wrong but follow their instincts and do what's necessary to survive; they don't follow nor have the same set of rules that humans do. Hell, I don't even think they HAVE rules. "It's MY house." Okay, well, it may be YOUR house, but it's built on THEIR home. All these poor animals and insects know how to do is survive, and I can't imagine how they feel when they're losing everything. Humans are animals too. We are NOT separated from them. We are all animals, but humans are an INVASIVE species. Why is everyone so quick to point fingers at everything but THEMSELVES? 'Oh my gosh, I have a whole bin of old foods and leftovers that I didn't eat sitting out on my front yard in the middle of the night!!!' 'Ugh, why did these stupid raccoons knock it over and make a mess?' IDK CLARISSA MAYBE BECAUSE IT'S A BIN FILLED WITH FOOD. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT...? WHEN THEY ACTIVELY SEEK THAT STUFF OUT...? Like, let's use our brains here.
Oh, and another thing that pisses me off so much is when my mom gets pissed off that there's trash on our lawn blowing from the neighbours. "I'm not picking up THEIR trash anymore." Okay, so it's not your trash, but it's still trash. Suck it, the fuck up, go outside, PICK IT UP and put it in the trash. Thanks. Can we normalize going out and just picking up trash??? Especially during summer and spring. New hobby 2026, picking up trash!!! - Reblog to boost :3
