1. Amazon villages build autonomous energy systems after mega-dam failed pledges
“A pilot project in the Tapajós-Arapiuns Reserve is providing 24-hour electricity through an integrated system of solar panels and river-based hydrokinetic turbines [… which] use specialized filter systems and slow-rotation grids designed to generate electricity without harming local river fauna. […] “We have a community freezer that serves the whole community. There’s a system there that works 24 hours, for the internet and for the community freezer.””
2. Mine restoration projects bring hope for bird communities
“[Ecologists] compared bird communities in [former mining] sites restored via the FRA [forestry reclamation approach] with mine sites that had not been actively restored and unmined areas[, … and] found that sites that had only been restored for two to five years prior to the study were already filled with birds[….] His group has also found improvements in water quality as well and more bats and frogs in FRA-restored areas, demonstrating some hope in these heavily degraded landscapes.”
3. World’s largest solar-battery hybrid project powers up in the Philippines
“The first phase of an integrated solar and battery project under construction in the Philippines has been officially synchronised and energised, less than 15 months since groundbreaking and on the way to becoming the world’s largest such project. […] The project will soon begin to export 85 MW of constant power to the local grid, demonstrating the project’s stability and reliability, ahead of a scheduled ramp up in its overall capacity.”
4. Rare blue-faced monkeys seen swinging through remote forest in Vietnam
“A new population census of […] the Tonkin snub-nosed monkey, has confirmed that numbers are stable [around 160] in a small forest area known as Khau Ca in northern Vietnam[….] A particularly poignant moment during the survey was the sighting of three infants, spotted with their families. […] “The project has also introduced a range of livelihood activities that provide additional income for local households, helping to reduce their dependence on forest resources.””
5. Robot clean-up crews tackle litter on Europe's seabed
“Guided by AI and supervised by humans, the robots take over much of the work. Their onboard AI system allows them to spot bottles, tires and other debris in camera and sonar images, and distinguish litter from rocks, plants and marine life. […] The surface vessel then sends out a collection drone to retrieve the debris[….] The technology could [also] help detect unexploded mines on the seabed left over from World War II.”

So people can call the racism card to everyone who disagrees with the casting of Nolan's movie or the killer joy card to those who disagree with the background choice and shooting regions and they can go on and blame anyone else but Nolan for this whole mess of a film that disrespects both Greece and its culture. The thing is that it seems that he seems condescending in the general aspect of the countries he visits.
Now I could be wrong and my fellow Greeks who live in Messina please confirm or deny this rumor;
It seems that he abandoned several of his prompts at a beach in Greece and his excuse was "so that they can be used as tourist attraction" as if he is going to save us all or something...but honestly it looks sad and bad...really bad
(images found from this publication which is seemingly using that username so it could be true)
So essentially he littered the beach with a bunch of fake rotting boats and calls it "tourist attraction" now as if we waited for him to have tourism. Bro if these are tourist attractions we can add a ticket to any small port in Greece that has abandoned boats! Yes we have these we don't need yours too! In fact there are several boats and ships that are either abandoned or sunken and do attract tourists sometimes but does bro think he is the Navagio beach or what!?
So please my friends from Greece if you can confirm this to be true or not I would be grateful because I see it in articles like this too
Ορισμένα μεταφέρθηκαν στη Σικελία
And now we hear that last July two divers off the coasts of Lipari beach in Sicily they discovered several abandoned plastic skeletons that seems to be props from the movie for the sirens
Il sub pavese Giovanni Cappa ha recuperato alcuni scheletri finti lasciati sui fondali di Lipari, dove è stata girata una parte del prossimo
Like...is this bro for real? Sometimes I wonder if all these are just slander because the guy cannot be THAT much can he?
He cares so little about the Mediterranean and her people that now liters her and alters her?! This can't be true. A person can't be THAT insensitive right? RIGHT????
"I'm sorry but I have to stop fighting you."
"...What?"
" I have a sidekick now and you're too much of a bad influence."
"I'm a villain! I'm supposed to be a bad influence!"
"I have other priorities now. I'm sure you understand."
"But I'm your nemesis!"
"Goodbye."
"Wait! Don't leave! I can change! Is it because of my smoking? Here, [empties cigarette box on the ground], please give me another chance!"
"...it's also the littering :/"
"I'll clean it up!" [Shoots a laser blast where the cigarettes were. Now there's a hole in the ground] "There!"

Anon likes to tape polaroids and small sketches/paintings around their neighborhood for people to find and enjoy. They use washi tape and other materials they already own and avoid plastic, though polaroids do contain plastic. Lately, anon has been wondering if this is just littering, especially since the artwork might fall/fly off and land on the ground, in people's yards, etc.
If you saw a polaroid or sketch taped outdoors, somewhere public like a lamp post, would you be happy about it, or annoyed that someone is littering?
I would be happy/it would make me smile
It would make me smile, but it's still littering
It's just littering
No opinion
Anon is open to suggestions for how to improve this practice and make it more eco-friendly, if anyone has ideas!
