Los Angeles City Guide

Los Angeles is a big city, so explore it all in few days is almost impossible, but I made this guide to help you do the most of your trip and do not miss the iconic spots in Los Angeles!

First-timer tips:

·     Use Uber Pool. It’s huge and with low rides.

·     Public service is also another good option, but don’t lose your card, you have to pay $1 each and every time you want to purchase a ride.

·     There’s traffic, so don’t rent a car. You’ll regret it, plus parking can be super expensive and hard to find.

What to pack:

Thank God summer in LA is endless, so expect a warm weather most of the time, if you’re visiting during America winter time, it can be chilly at nights.

Don’t forget to bring:

·     Sunglasses

·     Sunscreen

·     Hat or cap

·     Headphones

·     Camera

·     A good book

·     Backpack

·     Swimsuit

·      Beach tote

Santa Monica & Venice

I highly recommend rent a bike for one day to explore around, it is such a great experience and a good way to keep you moving.

ØSidecar Donuts: famous for their huckleberry donuts and coffee

ØDog Town Coffee: burritos, bring it the beach.

ØSalt and Straw: the most delicious ice cream.

ØFunnel cake: make sure you try this while watching the sunset, it just makes the experience even better.

üSanta Monica Beach: spend the day relaxing here  

üVenice Beach: you can easily walk or bike from Santa Monica to here. Here you’ll find hundreds of street vendors and performers.

üAbbot Kinney Boulevard: full of creative and quirky shops

üSanta Monica Pier: the perfect spot to end the day,  watch here the sunset, this was one of the highlights of my trip.

üSanta Monica 3rdStreet Promenade: full of restaurants and shops

Downtown LA

FOOD

ØEggslut: located in the Grand Central Market, boast some of the best egg sandwiches in California.

ØSugar Fish: home of the best sushi in town.

ØVerve Coffee: is known for being the most photographed patio in all of LA

ØBottega Louie: I had dinner twice here, the food is amazing, don’t miss the chance to try their macarons. They have so many flavors to choose from.

TO DO

üThe Broad museum: I am not a big fan of museums but this is totally worth it, don’t miss this. It just opened in 2015 and has been popular even since. (It’s free)

üLittle Tokyo: heart of the largest Japanese-American population in all North-America.

üLA Arts District: tons of hip coffee shops, plenty of colorful murals, and the sweetest pie in all f LA at The Pie Hole. – No plan needed, just wander around and photograph some murals.

LACMA & Melrose Avenue

ØAlfred Tea Room: probably the most Instagramed coffee

ØDK’s Donuts & Bakery: take an Uber to go there.

üLos Angeles County Museum of Art: LACMA as it’s known by locals. Plan to spend here 2-4 hours.
