This is NOT your average laser show.
Hongkong people gather outside the Space Museum to protest against the arrest of the president of the Baptist University student union, Keith Fong. He was found in possession of laser pointers and was being charged for possession of offensive weapons.
YES, the cops refer the laser pointer as 'laser gun' and said those are offensive weapons. The day after the arrest, the police used one of the pointers they've got from Fong (yes, they contaminated the evidence) in press conference, to demonstrate that the laser pen can burn paper, claiming they can also caused damage to the eyes.
Hundreds of Hongkongers gathered outside the Space Museum, many of them came with laser pen, instead of the usual slogans chanting and banners holding, the crowd pointing their laser pen at the wall of the museum, trees and even cigarette, mocking the police's demonstration.
The gathering continued after midnight and turned into a dance party, this is the most relax public gathering since the anti-extradition movement began.
This is the Kwai Fong MTR Station, one of the busiest stations in Hong Kong, right next to a bus terminal, many people's route to go home. The Hongkong police just used tear gas inside the station, ignoring the safety of the people.
Dear Travelers
Recap of 21st July 2019
The aviation industry had held an demonstration in the Hong Kong International Airport, starting from 13:00 to 23:59 so even the flight attendants and pilots can have a chance to join.
Throughout the protest, there were people chanting slogans, showing their banner and posters to the travellers an explained to them what is happening in Hongkong,
the airport was functioning as usual.
Instead of Lennon Wall, some protesters let others write down their feeling or wishes and stick on them.
Posters are everywhere but the people avoid covering the signs.
People are angry, not only about the Yuen Long attack on 21st July, also the fact that on the same night in Sheung Wan, the police shot the protesters, who were trying to leave the area, without warning. Only after shooting a few times that the Police finally raise the warning flag. The police said they used 55 cans of tear gas, five rounds of rubber bullets and 24 sponge grenades in their briefing. So much teargas was used that the area was very foggy, then the cops started to shoot at the protesters, aiming at their head, some charged at the group of protesters and shot, some stood on the footbridge and fire at the protesters below.
The government issued a statement on the same night, using most of the content to condemn the 'protesters' violence act' in Sheung Wan while just kind of mentioned the Yuen Long attack.
The Police commissioner later claimed that many officers were arranged on the Sheung Wan area to handle the protesters, so there were not enough manpower to handle the Yuen Long attack.
Sounds like they focus more on attacking unarmed protesters rather than doing their real job, protecting the citizen.
