The Ruin of Discord

Wren tapped his pinky against his chin, seeing as his index and middle were busy holding the common sight of a cigarette hanging from his slightly open lips. The young man's gaze was fixed on something in the distance, facial expression that of boredom. Wearing the threads of just some dude sitting at a bench along the walkway, smoking his life away as he simultaneously contemplated idle thoughts. The reassuring pressure of one of his blades strapped to the inside of his denim jacket calmed his mind. Hazel eyes slowly trailed across the horizon, maybe following an interesting person or car. Or, perhaps, following a specific person. A person who he'd been contracted to... deal with. Taking a deep breath, as if sighing at the first world problems of life in California, Wren stood up casually, tugging slightly at his jeans to adjust them. Taking another deep drag of his cig, he stubbed it out on the nearby trash bin before tossing it in. Sliding his calloused piano-fingered hands into his pockets, he began walking.
