Von appreciation post!!!

I love the diversity in trauma responses and how respectfully she deals with them. Especially with some of the characters who are more difficult for people to like, for example Kumada and Ikeda (especially in recent episodes). I think it’s so important to have characters who don’t fit the “perfect victim” narrative and Von does a super good job at writing the less glorified trauma responses that in a lot of mainstream media, people don’t have empathy for. In pink too, I love how Ojima and Wada’s traits were actively shown to be debilitating. I think it was really well dealt with how recovery also isn’t a simple linear path and people will often cling to things that make them worse, like with Hiroaki. I also love how every single character is complex and dealing with their own stuff. I think it’s nice to also see characters who have implied trauma and slight hints about their pasts that also let the audience make their own connections, especially for people who have dealt with similar things to recognize. So yeah!!! I think Tetro is super good and the writing definitely made me feel seen among many Jasons!!!
