Perusing TNG/DS9/VOY relaunch novels on Amazon after enjoying A Stitch in Time.

Based on the cover art, I assume that post-Nemesis, all of the characters suddenly cease to age, with the exception of Bashir, who ages to resemble whatever disenfranchised Arab liberal Alexander Siddig has been playing most recently.

I don’t knows whether this is a commentary on the themes dealt with in the Bashir novels, a savvy marketing ploy to capitalise on the fact the Alexander Siddig is ageing well, or both?

What I do know is that I want my Voyager novel with Janeway on the cover looking like Red from Orange is The New Black.

Things You’re Missing if You Don’t Read Mirrorverse Trek Novels:

content warning for dubcon/noncon.

- Keiko O’Brien is a fricken spy (who in the trek tradition of the mirrorverse being gay, passes on messages by faking sex with Tasha Yar*)

-You know how Miles O’Brien is the same in every universe? So is Picard, except he’s sadder.

-Also, mirror!Borg and resistance!Vash

- Mirror!B’Elana is essentially the same character as Mirror!Kira. mirror!B’Elana also keeps Tom Paris as a sex slave until he reveals himself as a member of the Terran Rebellion and shoots her.

-Neelix is actually a useful character in the mirrorverse.

-A coherent explanation for how we went from Terran Superiority with the promise of hopeful reform under Spock to the Alliance (see David Mack’s Rise Like Lions)

-Mirror!Dominion is actually a fair and just power

-Empress Hoshi

-Star Trek: Voyager but the delta quadrant comes here.

-the world’s highest squick content

Indulging in some Trek lit. Found this gem the other day and just finished it... can someone tell me wtf did I just read? Lol??

Note to self, there was:

-Two Spocks!

-Kirk having very weird theories as to why certain women are so horny for Spock (and especially for two of them!)

-Kirk asking Bones (in this book nicknamed Doc instead!?) why women are so horny for Spock (as if he don't know) and Bones just being like, "He's hot, Jim."

-Kirk exchanging school rings with one of the Spocks!

-Kirk refusing to give up on getting his ring back when he thinks it's on the wrong Spock!

-Weird descriptions of Uhura!

-Them not actually doing anything for months to solve the issue of the two Spocks because they are also in a war!

-Klingons fucking shit up!

-Organians fucking shit up!

I’m absolutely fine with the ds9 relaunch novels being bad, but when David George III writes them they’re bad, boring, long, and pretentiously phrased and that’s just too many strikes.
