Checking in on the animated Trek shows Paramount cancelled
There's something really funny about Caleb and Tarima having sex ending up being a plot relevant action in the episode.
I can only imagine the version of this show where Shaxs stayed dead and we missed out on 4 seasons of arguably the best member of the bridge crew. Just think about the classic moments we wouldn't have gotten with him.
Say thank you Shaxs for coming back from the Black Mountain.
old picture of Jet Reno looks exactly how I'd expect her to look (positive)
Absolutely shocked this didn't show up in Lower Decks. Like, Boimler is wearing it as an homage to Kirk but everyone thinks he hates Kirk and he's stressed out over everyone thinking he hates one of the most beloved captains of his time.
This is the B plot in an episode where the A Plot is one of the most serious stories of the season btw
Lore for the founding members of the Federation:
Ever think about how a modern Trek show even had a Tellarite main character and another Tellarite on the main bridge crew of the show and after 40 episodes we learned maybe 2 things about Tellarites
People trying to guess Captain Freeman's captaining style compared to the other captains:
Errm she's erratic and inexperienced and Lower Decks is a joke show so she blows up and sucks and FAILS!!!
Her captaining style in the actual show:
-Being so good at negotiation that even in season 1 a Parliament Class ship calls her for help working out a difficult situation
-Successfully pulling off a negotiation in a few hours at DS9 that normally takes a month of preparation, in a situation where she was literally designed to fail
-Negotiating a deal to get the Ferengi to join the Federation
-Being put in charge of the team directly involved in interacting with the rest of the multiverse.
It's clear her whole thing is negotiation and diplomacy but people can't separate the comedy of the show from how the characters are meant to be understood.
