Been catching up on your Veilguard liveblog, and while it only made Helena’s opinion of him worse, I’m curious if your own opinion of Solas changed in light of the stuff we learn watching his regrets?

Ahh, fun question! :D

I like to think I had a fairly nuanced view of him to begin with; I've never been his biggest fan, but he was an interesting surprise at the end of Inquisition that turned a lot of what we thought we knew about the series on its head. In light of the memories from Regrets of the Dread Wolf, I think my feelings on him continue to be pretty middle-of-the-road.

I have some sympathy for him for having caused a significant catastrophe and being desperate to undo it, having lost the world that was his and created a new one. But I also feel like the memories that we see in Regrets show him (and Mythal, and the other Evanuris) making a series of decisions that range from ill-advised to disastrous.

Do I think he meant well? Absolutely. Consistently, even. And frankly I hope that Dom is able to fulfill his initial intention and redeem him/draw him away from his current intentions. But I think my overall opinion remains about where it was previously, which is "cool motive, but you still fucked up". XD

I do think he's a fascinatingly flawed and interesting character and quite enjoy him as a foil to Helena in this story, too. Her interactions with him have been quite entertaining to me. :P

I was driving to work and As Long as You’re Mine from Wicked came on shuffle, and I was immediately bowled over with BlitzStrike feels. Now I must spread the idea so I’m not the only one dragging my hands down my face about the fact that this song is perfect for the Secret Relationship AU. Lmao

I was obsessed with this musical back in high school and As Long As You're Mine was one of my favorites!! I think this is hitting me twice as hard from the nostalgia factor as well as thinking about this song from a BlitzStrike perspective holy shit!!!!!

This is PERFECT for the Secret Relationship AU just like you said!! I'm melting to the floor right now just imagining Blitz shakenly singing this to Striker because he really CAN'T believe that it's Striker there with him that night......and not Stolas.

I think that it’s something that Blitz would kind of realize as he words were spilling out of his mouth--just how amazed he is that Striker of all people not only is there with him in bed, but that he actually really wants him.  He’s not there because he’s trying to get an easy shot at Stolas, he’s not there because he’s working some other hidden agenda, he’s not even there to try and piss off Moxxie by getting into his boss’s pants.  The one and only thing Striker wants in that moment is Blitz.

Striker has never felt like this before.  He didn’t know it was possible for him to feel like this towards another person.  All his life, he didn’t think there was anyone else who would even be able to come close to being his match.  No one who could meet him at his level, keep him on his toes, understand him the same way he’s able to understand them.  Blitz is.....fuck he’s just in awe of him.

Striker never would have predicted he would take this turn in life.  That he would actually give up going solo and partner up with someone that he respected, trusted, and--yes--loved.  And even though there’s a nagging voice in the back of Striker’s mind that warns him that in what he’s gained, he now has that much more to lose:

Say there’s no future for us as a pair.....

It doesn’t matter.  

And though

I don’t care

Nothing else matters.

In response to the sad Stolitz ask, how about songs for the breaking point, where Blitzo finally snaps and breaks up with Stolas, emotionally or lethally? ;) Personally I think I Know Where You Sleep by Emilie Autumn is a good one.

You know those videos where they lance the giant abscesses on cows? That's what every line of this felt like to my broken, betrayed, formerly-Stolitz shipping heart.

And as satisfying as the thought of Blitz just firing off an angelic weapon into Stolas's face is, and as happy as I am to revisit that scenario time and time again, there's just something infinitely poetic and satisfying about Blitz just...being strong enough to leave Stolas, forever, in the lonely, miserable life he has no one else to blame but himself for.

Jonathan Crane

Headcanon A: Jonathan has a tolerance for his fear toxin, espcially in aerosol form. If he injects a strong strain of it into his veins though, he will have a reaction. 

 Headcanon B: Jonathan trolls Ed by telling him that the series of ravens he's had over the years are the same bird. The fact that Ed knows Jon's lying to him but can't prove it infuriates him. 

 Headcanon C: Jonathan knows that he'll die alone and accepted it a long time ago. He'll make sure the world remembers him though. 

 Headcanon D: One of Jonathan's favorite pastimes is to call in on shows like Dr. Phil and terrorize the hosts.

What are some things the Aziraphales and Crowleys admire about their counterpart? I imagine Zira is very impressed by Az’s ability to stay cool in most scenarios.

Zira admires how sure of himself Az is at this point, and Az admires Zira’s natural softness (because that’s what he wants but doesn’t totally have). Crow admires AJ’s red hair and how well he pulls off being cool, and AJ admires Crow’s self confidence (under all the nerves).

thankyou! :) tbh outside of the D+D AU, i’m a Book verse artist, so there aren’t a lot of opportunities to draw AJ with long hair, even though i love it. and i’ve only drawn Crow with long hair that one time, but hopefully future plans will change that~

i think they’re both pretty much at the same level but at different points. Crow still attempts to give Az new things so he does have that “new and unused” pile. and Zira has the same pile, but AJ has mostly given up trying. they’re well into 2019 and technology is coming quicker than ever. he still tries to persuade Zira to get a cellphone though.

Az and Crow never have the need to do that, because Adam basically tells them not to worry and then, i dunno, makes Heaven/Hell forget what they’ve done? forget about them all together? it’s left pretty open ended.

I know everyone and their mother is requesting things, but if you have the time and whim, could we see more of Religious Studies Professor Crowley from that fake married AU post?

Oh god oh god so that fake married post? It’s like 10k in a word file right now. I’m plowing my way through my actual work work so I can work on it in the evenings cause this is a Thing I have mapped out with chapters and I’m having SO much fun with it.

Crowley felt the corner of his mouth crook up. He had a feeling this was going to be a lot more fun than he’d initially bargained for.

“Sir?” Adam’s hand shot up again, and Crowley very nearly took his glasses off to rub at his eyes. He was starting to understand where the All Mighty had been coming from. The boy was supposed to be in detention, not using it as an excuse to use Crowley like his own personal magic 8 ball for the mysteries of the universe.

“Yes, Mister Young, what is it now?”

“Is selfishness always a sin?”

Crowley looked up at that, taken aback. “I fully suspect that depends on who you ask.”

“I’m asking you,” Adam said, and Crowley was again hit with that note of authority, the persuasive undertone that pulled at the thoughts like a riptide in unsuspecting waters, the weight of the universe pressing down on him as reality morphed to conform to the boy’s will, dragging him along for the ride. He didn’t even know he was doing it, that was the truly remarkable thing. All that power! All that ability! Harnessed by the innocence of a child.

“No,” Crowley answered honestly, “I don’t believe it is. I think sometimes you can do the right thing for very selfish reasons. And if God thinks that’s a sin well...that’s their problem.”

“Until you get to the pearly gates,” Brian piped up cheerfuly, despite the swelling of his split lip, “then it’s your problem.”

“Oh no,” Crowley laughed, pushing his glasses further up his nose as he turned back to the notebook he was supposed to be marking and not doodling on. “Believe you me, if I ever wind up there, it’s still definitely going to be very much their problem. Now, we’re going to play a game, it’s called “shut it and do your homework or you’ll have detention again tomorrow”, got it? Good.”
