🖊 Something for Nyra AND El please they are both very neat!
I'd like to expand a little on their relationship over the years. El and Trahearne were romantically involved in the past but parted on amicable terms and remained close friends. So when Pact was formed, El immediately offered his assistance and led most of the research the Pact did for Zhaitan. When Trahearne started catching feelings El was like *if she hurts you I'll rip her heart out and feed it to Zhaitan* but eventually came to accept that Nyra and Trahearne are a thing and that they're happy together
Fast forward to Maguuma. DW is coming down the double helix thing with a wounded, unconscious Nyra and a dead Trahearne and Caledbolg. El didn't fight but was amongst the survivors of the fleet crash. He sees his old friend dead and disappears with the body and sword the same night. He blames her for his death, as she didn't really hide the fact she was the one who plunged a hole through Trahearne's body.
During Kralk campaign they're trying to make amends and are able to work primarily as allies now since even with Trahearne being brought back to life and everything, his death stands between them as something both can't really get past
I tried to make them friends but angst wasn't having it. Such a thing does keep Nyra down to earth though and is a reminder that she isn't a universally loved figure and will never be.
