Meet Carlotta Widukind and her brother Ronan.

Arrival at the Keep
Hesitantly Carlotta raised her hand to knock at the great wooden gate, but before her hand could connect with the wood a small door left of her opened.
“Yes?” the man asked, he had cat’s eyes, a witcher.
“I heard you are in need of a gardener, I’m here to offer my services.”
“Is that so?”, the witcher’s nose twitched, “Well, come on then.” He stepped back and opened the door wider, so she could lead the mule through. He frowned at the sight of Ronan, sleeping on the mule’s back, nest to our few earthly possessions.
“An’ who’s this?”
“Ronan, my little brother.” She answered, taken aback by the size of the keep, not much was known about Kaer Morhen, not because the Warlord made a big effort out of keeping it a secret, the dangerous and long trail did that all on its own.
“Hmm. You’ll have to talk to Jan, the steward, about the position.” He pulled her back into the present, “Take the boy and I’m gonna take you to ‘im, the steward I mean. One of the stable boys is gonna take care of that mule.”
“Thank you.” She said and gathered up the still sleeping Ronan.
Witchers, apparently, weren’t terrible talkative, at least this one didn’t say another word for the entire walk to the steward’s office.
The door was ajar and Carlotta could hear two, no three, voices talking.
“Jan,” the witcher called and walked into the office without as much as knocking, “We still looking for a gardener?”
She followed him into the office.
