Bloodborne trick weapon concept art. I made this for one of my OCs.
STAKE DRIVER
Damn, didn’t hit me until later, but Death the Wolf has a BloodBorne Trick Weapon
The adaptive greatspear — a trick weapon anyone can make use of
This weapon was one of my first brews. It’s relatively simple, but extremely useful for anyone with imagination and a GM willing to put up with shenanigans.
(I may have actually posted a version of this on this blog before, can’t quite remember, but this is a more balanced version with additional notes).
Long car trip and I'm not driving? Yes please!
With Fantasy Flight Games’ Genesys out in stores, Kyle dug in to the game and decided to make a homebrew version of one of his favorite video games: Bloodborne.
It’s currently still in early development and does require the Genesys Core Rulebook to play. The file will be updated as Kyle adds more and more monsters (both from the game and original) so be sure to check back often to see the latest content! Some Matt draw practices, and also a little info on his living weapon, Aeglos! Some of the images have text for them, explained why below. The name is, as some of you will pick up on right away, borrowed from the Lord of the Rings, where it was the name of the glaive used by Gil-galad, last High King of the elves. There, its name meant “icicle”, or “snow point”, but the language not aligning with anything in GW2 lore, I merely took it due to it sounding suitable sylvan-fitting, next to its sibling blade, Caladbolg.
The weapon is, as explained, a living weapon, much like the aforementioned thorn of the Pale Tree. It constantly has magic coursing through it, and Matt is able to use his own to split it into a variety of forms, whereas the blade and the plant-like hilt shrink and regrow in a split second to accommodate (shown in the images).
My general idea of how Matt would do this came from FromSoftware’s action-RPG, Bloodborne, more accurately one of the trick weapons featured in the game, Rakuyo. Below you can see it in gif-form how the player can split the weapon into a sword and a dagger; which is similar to how I imagined Matt would split Aeglos apart into swords, daggers, or any variation aside it’s original greatsword shape.
So that’s basically what I imagined my punlord plant nerd to use! Maybe not the most original idea but it is heckin’ cool and I love it. Also I finally drew something, so, yay!
