If this card is added to your hand, except by drawing it: You can Special Summon it from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Trickstar Lilybell" once per turn. This card can attack directly. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can target 1 "Trickstar" monster in your GY; add it to your hand.
Blue Angel Reduels Part I: Blue Angel vs. Playmaker
Let’s start strong. Playmaker is undefeated in VRAINS, never losing once, even to major antagonists (the worst he ever got was a tie with Revolver). Let’s change that. Blue Angel could’ve *easily* beaten him in her very first on-screen duel, as the following script will (hopefully) convince you of:
Blue Angel (BA): Here I go!
BA: I’ll set the stage for this speed duel with my field spell, Trickstar Light Stage! It lets me get any Trickstar monster from my deck, and I want this girl.
BA: Trickstar Lilybell’s never ever ever ever the wrong choice, because her special ability lets me automatically summon her!
BA (internal): Just watch Akira, You’ll see I’m not some helpless little girl once I defeat Playmaker.
BA: Next to join my crew is the one and only Trickstar Candina! She has a special ability you won’t like, Playmaker. I get to add another Trickstar card from my deck, ha!
BA: This card will be really useful later, but what’s useful now is my Trickstar Lycoris! Her special ability lets me summon her by returning a Trickstar monster on the field to my hand; and I’m choosing Trickstar Candina!
BA: Bye till later Candina!
BA: Oh, it is later!
BA: Soo, I activate my spell Trickstar Vision to re-summon Candina. Catch is, I have to cut her attack points in half and negate all of her special abilities, but that’s a small price to pay to get her back.
BA: Trickstar Vision lets us both draw one card. Uh, how about a ‘thank you?’ No? Okay.
BA: But that’s all right, because every time you get a card, Lycoris deals you damage! 200 points at a time!
BA: 200 points is noot that much, but every time one of my Trickstars damage you, Trickstar Lightstage also deals you 200 points of damage.
Playmaker Life Points: 4000 -> 3600
AI: Are you sure you’re up for this, Playmaker? She summoned three monsters and dealt you damage before you even took your first turn!
BA: All these Trickstars are great, buut I haven’t summoned my best one yet! Not ‘til I link summon!
Playmaker (PM): Link Summon?
BA: Yep! I’ll build the circuit that turns dreams into reality! Ha ha!
BA: Link arrows authorized. I need two Trickstars to link summon, so I set Trickstar Lilybell and Trickstar Candina! Link the Circuit!
BA (internal): This is just what I need to win, without anyone’s help!
Akira: Why, Skye? Why must you always disobey me?
BA: Now I link summon! Link 2 Trickstar Holly Angel!
Announcer: Blue Angel’s already summoned her best monster!
BA: Before I end my turn… I set these two cards facedown!
BA: You’re up, Playmaker. But all you’re doing, is going down!
PM: It’s my turn. I draw!
BA: Yep! You certainly did all right, and every single time you add a card to your hand, Trickstar Lycoris stings you for 200 points of damage… and Trickstar Light Stage follows up with 200 more!
Playmaker Life Points: 3600 -> 3200
BA: And when my Trickstars use their special abilities to deal you damage, my Holly Angel gains attack points equal to that amount; so since Lycoris dealt you 200 points of damage, Holly Angel gains 200 attack points.
Holly Angel Attack points: 2000 -> 2200
AI: Just the act of drawing a card’s busting you up.
PM: You’re right, all her cards work together seamlessly. I can see why the Hanoi’s interested in her… But that doesn’t mean she’ll win.
PM: I begin my turn by summoning Draconet!
PM: Draconet, now go! Use your ability to summon a Level 2 monster from my deck.
PM: I summon my Bitron!
PM: Now it’s my turn to Link Summon!
AI: I’m sure it’ll be great!
PM: Watch this! I create the ultimate circuit!
PM: Link arrows authorized! I require one normal monster to Link Summon. So I set Bitron in the Link Arrow!
PM: Link the circuit! I Link Summon! Link 1 Link Spider!
PM: And just like how you summoned monsters one after another, so shall I! Link Spider’s special ability allows me to summon a Normal monster that’s Level 4 or lower right next to its link.
PM: Like another Bitron.
PM: And with a second Bitron, I can Link Summon for a second time!
BA: No way!
PM: I set Bitron and Draconet in the link arrows. Go! Link the circuit!
PM: And now I link summon! Link 2 Link Bumper!
PM: And why should I stop at two… when I can summon a third!
PM: Now I require two Effect Monsters! So now I require my Link Spider and my Link Bumper!
PM: I link summon… Link 3 Decode Talker!
Decode Talker Attack Points: 2300
Announcer: Unreal! Playmaker just link summoned three times in a row! Your kiddies’ kiddies will be reading about this in the history books!
PM: Now attack! Destroy Trickstar Holly Angel!
BA: You really think that’s gonna work? I mean, I love how you said it with so much conviction! But… Trickstar Reincarnation banishes your entire hand, and you have to draw a card for every one you lose!
BA: Four cards gone, four cards back! And by drawing those cards, you know the drill by now. My Trickstar Lycoris deals you 200 points of damage per card.
BA: And 4 times 200 equals bad times!
BA: And Trickstar Lightstage hits you again for another 200 points!
Playmaker Life Points: 3200 -> 2200
AI: She really thinks she can chip away 200 points at a time and win?
PM: Why not, if it’s working out?
BA: Next, Holly Angel gains the damage Lycoris dealt you as attack points! You go, girl!
Holly Angel Attack Points: 2200 -> 3000
AI: Ah, glitch! That means her angel’s stronger than Decode Talker!
AI: You really wiped out big time, Playmaker, because DT’s a goner!
PM: I activate my spell! Go Security Block! It shields Decode Talker from destruction, and I take no damage from this battle.
AI: Oh. Good. I was never worried.
BA: That’s a nice spell card. Too bad though, because you totally wasted it, Playmaker.
BA: Trickstar Scatter destroys the monster my Trickstar monster battled, so your Decode Talker’s destroyed anyway!
AI: Umm, not good? I was never not worried?
BA: I’m ready for whatever you can dish out.
BA: Ya see, this duel, ya know? It’s so much more than a game! It’s my life! So you won’t break me!
PM: This duel is far from over. Though you have destroyed my Decode Talker, that allows me to summon Salvagent Driver from my hand in defense mode!
Salvagent Driver Defense Points: 2100
PM: I end my turn!
BA: Then my Holly Angel’s Attack drops back to 2k, but don’t get too comfortable!
Holly Angel Attack Points: 3000 -> 2000
AI: She’s so bubbly that I want to burst her bubble. And you smell that? Her deck’s now reeking with the stench of Hanoi!
PM: I still don’t know how an eyeball can detect scent, but I do agree that I sense Hanoi’s presence too.
BA: My turn! I draw!
PM: That card belongs to the Hanoi!
AI: I saw it first!
BA: Oh, man… what was that?
BA (internal): I gotta get my head back in the game.
BA: I know what you’re thinking, Playmaker! You think all this damage I’m dealing you is going to let you use your skill once it’s your turn again, don’t you?!
BA: Well, I’ve got some bad news for you! You’re never going to get to activate it, because I’m going to beat you this turn!
BA: But to do that, I’ll need to link summon again!
PM: Link summoning again?!
BM: I’m gonna build the circuit that turns dreams into reality!
BM: Link Arrows authorized! I need two Trickstars to link summon, so I set my Holly Angel and my Lycoris in the Link Arrows! Link the circuit! Link 2 Trickstar Holly Angel!
AI: I think that Hanoi card’s messing with her head more than we thought! Why would she give up her angel and another monster just to summon another Angel?
PM: I’m not sure, but Blue Angel’s no amateur, so I’m sure she has a plan.
BA: You’re right about that Playmaker! I banish Trickstar Reincarnation from my Graveyard to revive one of my Trickstars! And the one that’s sure to help me is Trickstar Lilybell! Come join the fun! Let’s go! Ha ha ha ha!
Lilybell Attack Points: 800
BA: And I didn’t summon Lilybell to just any zone, I summoned her next to Holly Angel’s Link, which means… she gets to deal you 200 damage!
BA: And then my Trickstar Light Stage deals you 200 more points of damage!
PM Life Points: 2200 -> 1800
BA: And because one of my Trickstar monsters dealt you 200 damage using her special ability, Trickstar Holly Angel gains 200 attack points!
Holly Angel Attack Points: 2000 -> 2200
Revolver: That naive girl drew the card we gave to her. Once she plays it, she belongs to us.
BA: Your silly scooter won’t protect you, because my Lilybell can attack you directly!
BA: Go Lilybell! Blast him!
BA: And don’t forget about Trickstar Lightstage!
PM Life Points: 1800 -> 800
Playmaker falls off his duel board due to Trickstar Lilybell’s attack
AI: We’re falling! I’m too young to frag!
Playmaker teleports himself back onto his duel board
AI: You enjoy scaring me like that?!
PM: Kinda.
BA: Well, it looks like you’re still hanging in there, but you won’t be for much longer! Since Lilybell dealt you damage, I can bring Lycoris back to my hand!
BA: Before I make any more attacks, I’m activating Trickstar Lycoris’ special ability! I’m summoning her to my field in attack mode! And when I do that, I get to return Trickstar Lilybell to my hand!
AI: Yeah, that card’s definitely messing with her head, she gets to return her monster to her hand?
PM: Didn’t you just say that, and turn out to be wrong?
AI: Uh, no?
BA: Because I returned Lilybell to my hand, her special ability allows me to resummon her to my field!
AI: oh, so that’s what she meant.
PM: I told you.
BA: And once again, I’m summoning Lilybell next to Holly Angel’s Link! Which means, Holly Angel gets to deal you 200 more points of damage!
BA: And Trickstar Lightstage needles you for another 200 points of damage!
PM Life Points: 800 -> 400
BA: One more time Holly Angel! Because she dealt you 200 points of damage, she gains that many attack points, bringing her up to 2400!
Holly Angel Attack Points: 2200 -> 2400
BA: And because my Lilybell was resummoned, she can attack you again Playmaker! Directly!
BA: Lilybell, blast Playmaker again and end this speed duel!
PM: Not so fast, Blue Angel! Because you declared an attack, I’m allowed to discard Sphere Kuriboh from my hand, and change Trickstar Lilybell to defense position, disabling her attack!
BA: Well, that’s just fine! Because I can still attack! Trickstar Holly Angel, destroy Salvagent Driver! Holy Star!
BA: With your Salvagent Driver out of the way, my Trickstar Lycoris is allowed to attack you directly! Which is more than enough to wipe out the rest of your life points!
BA: Trickstar Lycoris! Attack Playmaker directly and end this duel! Stinging Saber!
Playmaker Life Points: 400 -> 0
Announcer: WOW! Blue Angel’s true blue crew’s hopes weren’t misplaced! She just defeated the one and only Playmaker!
Akira: Skye did it, she won…
AI: We… lost.
PM: You mean I lost. You didn’t do much. She didn’t end up using that Hanoi card, either, did she?
AI: Hey! That’s right! I wond-
BA: Thank you to all my fans! Keep shining Bl-
Blue Angel starts shining with a sinister purple aura, and the Dark Angel card floats out of her deck to hover in front of her, ominously
BA: AHHHH!
AI: spoke too soon, I guess.
Blue Angel continues to scream, falling off her duel board as she slips into unconsciousness, as the episode ends
Well, there you have it. and I didn’t even need to change the way the episode starts or ends. I could have, and avoided the unecessary trope Yugioh loves to employ of brainwashing its female characters. However, if Skye (note: I know her name is Aoi, but I watched and translated the dub, wherein she is named Skye) isn’t brainwashed in this episode, the significance of her best duel in the series (Blue Angel vs. Baira), loses the significance that made that duel so good. Sorry Skye.
