Because the cabinets are of different heights, for a moment there my brain was telling me they were melting.
One of them has the hinges installed upside-down. :D I was not sober when I assembled it. :D

I wish I'd had her powers a month ago. Took me a month to figure out why mine wouldnt maintain a temp.
Was it that one of the wires was loose? Because that was definitely an issue with mine :D The Nest is a bit finicky in that regard.Â
niennanir replied to your photo â@scifigrl47 is the thermostat whisperer.â
Ooo, I've been eying the Nest a while. Let us know how that madness works out for you so that I can benefit from your success or poor choices as the case may be.
I will say, take your thermostat apart and check the wiring before you buy, because the Nest is compatible with a lot of systems, but not with a lot of HARDWARE in those systems. If you have separate RH and RC wires (rather than the RC wire jumped to the RH) then you need one specific version. Also, your wiring needs to be solid-core, not stranded, and very narrow gauge. I have stranded wires and we made it work, but it wasnât easy, and itâs not information thatâs super available before you buy (after you buy thereâs a lot of âcheck your compatibility!â stuff, but not until you buy).Â
Iâm liking the Nest E so far, but itâs been a real challenge to get it set up.Â

Itâs pretty fun in person too :DÂ

DANG where are those from?
Hax! Itâs a burger joint in the South Loop, but they also cater to the brunch crowd on weekends. Â

I remember when you got the "ugly orange chair". It goes so well with the green wall!
I love my ugly orange chair :D I wasnât even thinking about it when I painted the wall -- I was thinking about my darker green sofa and rug -- but Iâm loving the look!Â
hey-itspizzatime replied to your photoset âSlowly getting moved in!â
:O where's the armchair from
It actually belonged to my maternal great-grandmother, and my grandmother inherited it at some point. It used to have a blue-and-white floral stripe pattern, but my grandmother reupholstered it in the 1970s in that hilarious, very seventies orange, before gifting it to my mother. It actually lived in my bedroom in my teen years, and then we managed to get it to me in Chicago after I moved here.Â

Omg, a SKR side story?! I'm already in love.
Haha! Thanks, darling! I hope it turns out okay! I just finished the first draft, so Iâm going to see if I can revise it before the night is out. <3 Fingers crossed!
