okay this is weirdly specific but are there any fics where betty has a miscarriage? especially if jug didn’t originally know, but i’ll take what I can get lol.
We never judge anyone their requests - so don’t worry about the weirdly specific ones. There aren’t a lot of miscarriage fics on the archive - at least tagged appropriately anyway. And as we only rec the fics we’ve read, I probably should have let one of the other mods field this one. However - here are a few. You might have more luck looking through the pregnancy tag as well.
Please heed the tags - I know this is a trigger for many! Thanks! <3 Jandy

"I lost the baby." She can barely choke the words out as she stared at the floor.
Small Bump, a Warehouse 13 Song Fic!
Ed Sheeran - Small Bump.
"It's going to be alright, darling..." Helena spoke softly, her support showing but her reassurance not exactly hitting the mark. Fingers curled around Myka's hand, Helena's other hand was planted in the brunette's curly locks, stroking them softly as Vanessa spread the ultrasound jelly around Myka's barely pregnant belly. "If there's anything, we caught it in time."
Vanessa looked up at Myka with a warm smile as she grabbed the second half of the ultrasound machine. She nodded in response to Helena's comment about catching it in time, as she placed the ball end over Myka's stomache and began to move it along slowly, trying to find a decent picture of the baby. "Don't you worry Myka, it's natural for women to cramp a little and bleed." She caught Helena's eye and kept her mouth shut as the Victorian woman stared at her with such an intensity that she really hoped she was right that Myka didn't have to worry.
Myka just nodded her head softly, remaining quiet as a mouse as she watched the screen with an intensity not unlike her wives. She knew that bleeding was normal, she had read up about it, but she hadn't bled when she was pregnant with Abigail or Amelia. Myka had insisted on this pregnancy, that she finally be allowed to do fieldwork, the distance memory of Amelia leaving her with mounds of paperwork, a painful reminder. Naturally, all the paperwork in the world would've seemed like a sweet escape the moment she had felt a searing pain across her stomache and disappeared to the washroom only to find rather a large amount of blood in her underwear. Myka panicked and had demanded Artie bring Vanessa from her vacation to the B&B immediately.
Vanessa smiled and pointed to the screen when she found a decent picture of the baby. "There we go!" She exclaimed, checking the looks of everything, not much to really decipher, it looked like a baby formed appropriately for how many months Myka was. If anything it was just a tiny bit small, and it seemed to be... "A girl! You two are having a third daughter!" Helena beamed brightly and leaned down to kiss Myka on the lips for a second, an action that wasn't returned if only because of the small whisper coming from the agent.
"I haven't heard a heartbeat, where is it Vanessa?"
Vanessa paused for a second, her equipment being advanced enough to double as a doppler. She froze and was flustered as she moved the doppler just a little around, the only sounds filling the room was the normal whooshing of the machine. Helena exchanged a glance with Vanessa, and the grim look on both of their faces, sold the idea to Myka and she began to shake her head back and forth, fear and emotion playing out.
"You told me we would've found anything in time... You said it was going to be alright!" She exploded, looking at H.G. with the kind of rage in her eyes that the older woman knew all to well. It was the kind of rage that was born simply from pain. "Where is the goddamn heartbeat?" Myka repeated, tears filling her eyes, the only thing keeping her from bursting into tears was to cuss and yell as loud and angrily as she could.
The room was silent for another few minutes as Myka just stared at the screen, a realization slowly coming over her and absolutely destroying her hopes and dreams with that moment. How were they going to tell the girls? How were they going to tell the others? Claudia had been so excited about the possibility that Caylah would have a little future boyfriend or girlfriend. How was she going to tell herself every morning that it had all happened for a reason... Maybe she was too old, or not in good enough health? Maybe she had already had two blessings and she was greedy for wanting more.
Thump-thump, thump-thump!
In an instant all was well again, and the three ladies could breathe again. The thought in Myka's mind not far from a "God that was a close one" and a promise never to let anything happen again where her small bump's fate would be uncertain.
Susan buys Kerry a gift for her baby.
Susan: I almost forgot. Here. I know it's a little early, but I was in Field's buying a gift for my niece, and I saw the infant stuff. It’s like I pass those little clothes, and I just go into a trance state. I have to buy something.
Kerry: Susan.
Susan: Those little onesies and jumpers? They have complete control over me. And the little shoes. I didn’t know if it's a boy or girl, so I got it in green, like a neutral color, but if you hate it, I have the gift receipts—
Kerry: I'm not pregnant anymore. I miscarried.
Susan: Oh, God. Kerry, I'm so sorry.
Kerry: The embryonic loss rate after implantation is about 30%...Thank you for the thought.

ER - Season 9 - A Little Help from My Friends (2003)
"What's happened...?" Clara asked, not hesitating to run over to her friend. She picked up her head and placed it in her lap, knowing what had happened. It had happened before, and she knew what her friend was going through. "God I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. You don't... You shouldn't... This should never have happened to you, and I'm so sorry."
"What do you mean what's happened?" She croaked miserably tears streaming down her face. "You know exactly what happened. You knew it was going to happen and you didn't say anything." Her voice was accusational, but she mostly just felt like a part of her was missing as she laid there in a pathetic lump.
I can't find the heartbeat.
