It had been approximately twenty-minutes since the battle had started. Disaster level Demon had been broadcast, and though this threat seemed less than the typical of it’s level, Genos had taken to the scene because it was causing havoc in his home town. Here, in Z-City, he had been spending a majority of the day relaxing for once, reading and focusing in on things he hadn’t taken the chance to, when the news itself simply turned right off.
Saitama hardly seemed worried, had waved him off when he had offered to check it out, and so the demon cyborg had set out, and so he found the beast of a creature that was wreaking havoc on Z-City. Whatever it was, it was twelve-foot tall and ugly, with long blades where any arms should have been. Slashing and cutting away at buildings, at any civilians that hadn’t made it out during the evacuation, or hadn’t bothered leaving because they were too used to this bullshit.
Genos did what he could to distract it, and he did fairly well, before he slammed his entire force into the large, feline-like blade-armed bastardization of God. It was unfortunate that he launched it towards a group of civilians, one of which seemed to be lagging just short of safety. It was a task, but the cyborg’s body reacted accordingly, blasting levels of heat to his heals, propelling him forward, past the falling beast, as he scooped the woman up, taking off a couple dozen feet away.
“Ma’am--- Are you hurt? You should have fled sooner, the evacuation warnings arrived late, but--” He was cut short, as he found himself impaled, a cackling creature behind him as he was hoisted into the air. Every time, every single time, he let his guard down, only to be caught be it. The cyborg grit his teeth as the beast let out a bloody, garbled laugh.
“Come on hero! Turning your back on me for a girl!? That’s what happens when you men think you can call yourselves top dog, thinking with your dick gets you killed!” The creatures voice bellowed, as it slipped prepared to fling him entirely. Genos wouldn’t have that however, grabbing hold of the blade with heated fists, the metallic plates on his wrists rose and began to blast flames into it, as the man began to yell out, focusing all of his power and energy into snapping that blade.
Successful, he pulled himself off and twisted, leaping up to run up that arm, before he found himself nearly diced in half as that other blade swung up, propelling him to the side. The force was enough to act against, so that in that final moment, he flung that blade, and it pierced through the skull of the very being themselves.
Genos had to act fast now, gripping his one side in an attempt to keephis upper and low halves connected, he kicked off the ground to once more grab the girl and jettison them both, rolling into a patch of concrete and rubble , as the monster toppled onto the location where the woman had been standing. The Cyborg laid there, arms grasping this stranger protectively, a needless pant escaping his throat as his systems overheated.
Loud hissing plumes of steam escaped him, as his body cringed and jerked from the incredible damage done to his systems, and yet all he could do was look down in his arms, and hope that he was able to help keep the woman safe, who had nearly been crushed.
