I know I cannot be

a lifetime of memories

I am not the first taste of forever

but

I just want to be the last

Overthinking

I’m the one doing all this overthinking

While you’re just movin’ on

And While I’m here barely breathing counting each second that you’re gone

You’ve got your plans and you’ve got them

While I’m stuck in the past that promised the future

I lost the most important piece of myself

How to be me without you

When you don’t even need to learn

How to keep on keeping on

There was never a time when I thought I’d regret being tangled up in you

And even if the good times were gold

Now that gold is worth nothing but fleeting thoughts and time once passed and still

Now I don’t know how to be me without you

Now I don’t know how to see a tomorrow without you

Now I need to accept I was just a passing phase

And I’m not the ocean you want to sail ; I’m the wading pool where you test the waters

Beautiful

I believed you thought that I was beautiful

Because the words that poured from your mouth spelt it out line by line

And the way you touched my skin -

Spoke endlessly how you loved every curve

The way your eyes would flow

And yet

I’ve come to learn that

Beauty is in the eye of beholder

And while you were proving that to me- you shed light in the end

That I was never beautiful

In your eyes

School

Tell me why I'm not allowed

To say I don't want to go

Tell me why I have to suffer

8 hours of a teacher who doesn't care..

And students who don't want to be there.

Tell me why you can't just see

This isn't the best for me

Tell me why school is cruel

I'll tell you why, it's true

If they cared and if times were changed

Maybe if we didn't have to spend 8 hours there

And another 4 at home

They tell us we need sleep

Where they value...

Your grade above your health

It's not your ability to write an essay

But the length of your shorts

You're stripped of basic human rights

Like

Using the toilet

And, dare you admit your displeasure

And you're just an angry teenager

Say all you want

They just won't listen

Now tell me why

You call kids stupid

When you won't teach them

Whispering it along the wind Singing it out to the stars Wondering if they hear you It's like the sun and the moon so far but so important it's their smile in the morning it's how they lift you when you're down it's the lone wolf's howl and the birds fair screech it's everything and more it's nothing and less
