Trip, the damsel in distress, has absolutely nowhere to go, no one to see on Earth (even though not so long ago he was telling T'pol how he's gonna be switching beaches every week once they’re home)

T'Pol, absolutely casually and almost accidentally invites him not only to Vulcan, but to sleep in her mother's house. She doesn’t even argue him on using "us" in "What does she know about us?" because there's functioning "us" between them now and oh, her mother has never heard of him but that's okay, not suspicious at all

seriously, if there had to be a hasty wedding, it should have been Trip saying to T'Pol "okay then marry me" when they were watching fire plains

"what did you say?"

"marry me. if you marry me, you won't have to get married to him"
