I need more Rex content in my life.
Hello i’d like everyone to look at this pixel rex i made
AU where Echo is brought back from the Citadel.
“Can you give us a moment?” Fives asked the head medic, gesturing to Echo. Echo floated in the bacta, unconscious or in a sort of feverish dream state, oblivious to the world around him.
The lead medic nodded at Fives and had everyone clear the room. Blue-green light from the bacta tank cast eerie shadows on the walls and consoles. Echo floated there, alone. He was so vulnerable like this. Rex would know what to do.
Horrible screams ripped through Fives’ mind. Flashes of what they had just witnessed came without warning. Tightness squeezed Fives’ chest. He placed a hand on Echo’s tank. Fives’ heart pounded. His cheeks flushed. His hands trembled and the images of burning, pain, and death came faster and faster. Fives gritted his teeth, willing himself not to break down just yet. He could get through this. He had to be strong, for his brothers. But, he struggled to find breath. A lump formed in his throat.
Fives’ knees gave out and he slumped to the floor, his hand still on Echo’s tank.
“Echo….” He said, his lips trembling and his voice thick.
“I can’t- I can’t do this without you.” Tears came down hot on his cheeks, “This isn’t- we aren’t....” A sharp ache in Fives’ chest and throat brought more tears. He clenched his fists so tight it hurt. But he didn’t care. The pain felt good. It released the pain inside. He squeezed tighter. His fingernails cut into his palms. Hot blood began to pool in his palms. Pressure built in his chest. The more it built, the more he curled in on himself protectively. His body was racked in sobs. Finally, he screamed. His scream was raw, filled with pain, anger, grief, and fear.
He gasped and shuddered. His whole body trembled. An exhausted ache came over him, seeping through his muscles into his bones. Softly, he whispered to himself,
“Echo….I can’t lose you too.”
