Ratchet (Transformers) Chapter 2
The minute you left the room, Ratchet surveyed the area. He needed to find something to fight with. He wouldn't stand a chance in this body, especially since you weren't normal. The room looked standard to what he'd seen. This place didn't have a private base, or even a lab. Without his operating system he couldn't do a full sweep. From what he could tell, this must have been a guest room. There was a window to his left. Not barred, or secured to keep him inside.
"What is her play?"
He couldn't read the atmosphere at all. This was a pretty average house. No weapons or gadgets, and you weren't even trying to hide him. The bands on his hands didn't even look that high tech. It looked more decorative, similar to what he'd seen Sam wore. So how was it controlling his spark? Better yet, how was he supposed to change back?
There's a knock on the door.
"Are you calmer now?"
He didn't answer, and you entered. He shifted again, watching you like a hawk. The closer you got, the further he backed up on the bed.
"Relax." you state. You were holding a bag in your hand.
"I need to change your bandages, you've already bled through them. " His eyes drift to his arms. You were right. He could see the red filtering through. That was something he never got used to. Bleeding like a human.
You pulled up a chair, placing the bag on the desk next to the bed. You didn't attend to him immediately. You waited for some sign from him that it was okay to begin. He didn't speak, just narrowed his eyes.
"I'll take that as a go." So you reached out, the second you touched his arm, he grabbed your wrist, pulling out the scissors from the bag in front of you. He held it threateningly.
"Tell me what you did! Change me back!" You tried to pull back, but his grip was firm, even with his obvious injuries.
"R-Ratchet let go I told you that I-" you scream at the current that rushes from his bands. Ratchet lets out a similar yell, and he drops the scissors, clutching his head at the flash of images.
"She's dead, get rid of her."
"Please...it hurts, I just want it to stop."
"Are you alright little one."
"Thank you, I'll never forget this Optimus."
Both your bodies hit the ground, Ratchet desperately trying to process what he'd just seen.
"The allspark...that woman.."
There's no doubt about it, the woman in that memory was you. And Optimus. You hadn't just been trying to trick him into revealing Optimus' location. You'd actually met him.
Your eyes are tightly shut, and Ratchet raises slowly. He can see the pain clearly on your face. Not just from the fall, but the memory. He inches closer to you, reaching out. When his hands touch your arm you jump, eyes somewhat wild. Your breathing is labored, and it takes a while for you to relax. You looked about ready to scramble away.
"I-It's just you.." you mumble under your breath. Pressing your head to the floor, you fight back a sob. Ratchet feels somewhat disgusted with himself. You were actually trying to help him. The few seconds of your life he'd seen, he could feel the fear. It was paralyzing. What was a mere flash for him was possibly an eternity for you.
"I'm okay, I'm okay."
You chant that in your head. You can't let him see you this weak. Once you've managed to calm down, you rise to your feet slowly, picking up the fallen items. The minute you're upright, you smile at him, one you hope is welcoming, non threatening.
"I think we should start over, My name is (Y/N), it's nice to meet you Ratchet."
He's stunned at your quick change in demeanor. You were acting like he didn't just try to impale you with a pair of scissors. And from the looks of it, you're still offering him help.
"A strange one indeed."
What can he do but accept your help, it's not like he'd get far in his current predicament.
