After a long delay, as you know I finally got to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd at @hoborlando House of Blues in Orlando. The ticket was a Christmas present in 2020 for a concert that coming February, which was delayed until September, and then delayed again until the end of January this year. I first saw him in the early 2000s when he was promoting his third album, #thiswas. This year, he’s celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the second album, #troubleis. I was totally OK with that as his second and third #albums are my favorite. Absolutely blistering blues rock. He was performing with his band, which included lead singer Noah Hunt and some really good backing musicians. His piano player and horn section sounded like they were good jazz musicians playing the blues. I feel like the blues and classic rock, he’s worth the show. Besides the fact that he’s just an amazing guitar player. I think I like him better than Clapton. Three things I would’ve liked to see but didn’t: first, I would’ve like to see him sing lead vocal at least once. He has songs and albums where he does that. Second, I’d like to see him do one of his acoustic numbers, like Aberdeen. And third, I don’t see how you can celebrate the album Trouble Is without playing #slowride. But I have no complaints. It was a great show. #kennywayneshepherd #straighttoyoulive #2020 #coloredvinyl #vinyl #vinylcollection #vinylrecords #vinylcommunity #vinylcollector #vinyljunkie #vinyljunkies #music #rock #bluesrock #blues #rockmusic #rocknroll #rockandroll #classicrock #2000s #2000smusic #2000srock #rockandromanticism (at Vinyl Request Records) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZdEz-jsGIG/?utm_medium=tumblr
